its awesome. especially when you have a tight knit group of people. I wouldn't ever look back on it as something i wish i never did, but something i wish i did if i didn't. You don't really get the opportunity to work on a car of that caliber or drive one outside of FSAE unless you're rich.
they made a concept that was in GT5
on our formula sae car, we have an electronic shifter and a foot operated clutch. on downshifts you don't really need to use the clutch so you can downshift extremely fast without using the clutch.

does the stig going around the top gear track count as racing? because as far as entertainment value goes, the commentating while he is driving is top notch, even though it is only for a minute.
i think when your final units of measurement deal with ludicrous amounts of horsepower, it really doesn't matter what the drive train loss is. But yes, drive train loss is higher on an AWD system.

I pick a toyota 7! twin turbo v8 with 800 hp out of a 1970's racer is perfectly fine by me. and the danger knowing that 2 people had died in testing... even more thrilling of a car!
