Getting some good snark on Twitter
I’m not sure you have a handle on the meaning of the word ‘controversial’.
Don’t mind Argh, he’s a Snyder Tribalist who thinks that anyone that disagreeing with his take on Snyder’s movies is equivalent to anti-semitic propaganda that helped inspire genocide. He still doesn’t see anything wrong with this fucked up comparison. He lives in his own little world and it’s best to hit the dismiss…
Agreed. I am also particularly fond of season 6. Not only for JB Smoove’s debut but for the entire Larry and the Blacks arc. The divorce arc was also fantastic and the way the two dovetail at the end is genuinely beautiful and also hilarious ("In the interest of full disclosure, I will tell you, I have a tickle in my…
That’s fair, but I never said the quote was about BvS in my initial comment. In fact, the article I linked to explicitly states it was in reference to Watchmen. I only said that the quote in question did not age well due to him choosing to use a metaphor of Batman being raped.
“bona fide library fox”
I always joke with my Father that life presents us these little Larry David moments, as witnessed on this stellar show. More than any other, time after time, I am at parties holding a stupid toothpick and have nowhere to put it. Season 4 hands-down.
Trick Or Treat is one of the best Curb episodes of all time. Hilarious and satisfying.
Holy shit, this caption absolutely broke me:
Xbox’s strategy this go-round is so weird. It feels like they’re doing everything they can to convince me not to buy an xsx. Don’t feel like upgrading? No problem! All the exclusives will be on last gen as well. Hell, you can just play them on pc! Also, Nintendo sure is swell!
“Joe Biden, hardly a man who has inspired excitement”
LOL. Look, you’re a good writer in the sense that you have as sophisticated vocabulary and can string together words in a pleasant way.
Left unspoken are the precise reasons why we’re talking about a woman as vice president instead of, well, as president.
Except “the people" overwhelmingly voted for Biden. Their will was done. VP candidates are very often failed Presidential candidates— Biden was one himself in ‘08. This is an odd take.
“dissected based on whether or not they would help Biden’s election chances.”
100%. Ester continues to have NO FUCKING IDEA what she’s talking about. Again, she’s a tool of the right. Pathetic
I’m just not buying this. Biden won the primary, committed to selecting a woman as his VP, then did. There were legitimate female candidates in the primary who all received fair media coverage and they just didn’t get enough votes. How is that the fault of “the patriarchy”?
This is about as positive as you guys are going to get, isn’t it? PUMAs, Class of 2020.
It feels like this article-- and many others-- are completely disconnected from the basic fact that Biden won the nomination decisively in large part because he was the overwhelming choice of female voters...especially female voters of color.
How do we reconcile this attitude toward Biden’s nomination and his selection of Harris with the reality that Black women represent the voting base of the Democratic party and that their votes propelled Biden to securing the nomination?
