Rough translation on some entries below because these are too hilarious.

As a plus size woman I have done some incredible work and would love to make 2B. I also don’t like being told to go kill myself repeatedly by fan boys for ruining their favorite thing.

Explain to me how flagging drone footage for human-review —gaining better intel so that we do not attack the wrong targets —is evil.

Fuck these Google ex-employees.

Just to add to what you said, not only are saves free on the PC, games that have added support for it can backup saves to the cloud on Steam, Origin & UPlay for free. Additionally, games that support it can backup game data to Google’s servers on Android, Apple’s servers on iOS, and Amazon’s servers if you use Android

- Cloud saves are free on XB1 (and PC which is also a major gaming platform btw)

Why don’t they just introduce a charge stand that doubles as a dock where you can toggle between docked vs. undocked?

It is an issue for instances where, say, your Switch gets stolen, or if you need to send your Switch in for repairs (where the standard procedure is to wipe the entire system in the course of the repair).

“You can now hook up your smartphone to your Switch with the Nintendo Cloud Connectivity Cable (sold separately), and utilize the Nintendo Cloud smart app to backup your saves!”

Yeah but at least Sony and Microsoft’s digital purchases have always been tied to a singular account. Nintendo fragments their purchases between accounts and occasionally locks them to single systems.

I knew it. And I should’ve understood sooner why they didn’t announce it before. They wanted to sucker us in, using our own expectations of VC against us as an invisible bullet point on the back of the box. Once they’d sold a year’s worth of consoles they felt safer in admitting they wouldn’t do it.

It’s not the $20 that breaks the bank. It’s that I have to pay $20 if I want peace of mind for my save data and we still have to use that dumb app to voice chat

$20 really isn’t bad, however, that doesn’t seem to be the issue for a lot of people. A lot of people just want to ability to back up saves and aren’t interested in the online aspect. So if that’s all you really want the $20 becomes less of a value. Also, people want quality service if they are paying for

I remain cautious. This is Nintendo, a company notorious for its general lack of understanding of online infrastructure, and one that is prone to sticking with bad or unorthodox ideas, such as relegating online parties and voice chat to a phone app that doesn’t work well in the real world. If they actually give us

I like how “Updating the Switch” is a feature

That is true, but paying 20$ for the only way to backup save games is disgusting.

This is not about the value of XBOX LIVE OR PSN or Nintendo’s interent service.

This is about locking the ONLY way to back up saves, behind a paywall.

20$ to be able to backup your save games is robbery. Remember this is the only method to backup your saves....

What the fuck Kotaku... the advertising is super disturbing for this article here... jesus christ.
