I'm a big fan of Packhouse. I went there first specifically because of their tipping policy. Anything I can do to encourage places that do that is helpful. I keep going back because it's damn tasty.

Are any of these free and don't require you to reup once a year? I need something that I can put on friend's kid's computers (and sometime friend's computers) that is completely hands off. If I remember, Avast makes you answer and email or some thing once a year or it stops updating. They simply aren't going to keep…
My rule is to never lend money I expect back. There is nothing that will start hard feelings faster than someone who "forgets" to pay money back, so I just avoid it by only lending money that I don't expect to get back. That way, if I do get paid back it is great, if not it's no big deal.
I agree if you are looking at it from a dollar perspective, then buying is a better deal every time. But I have found myself getting the new car itch every 3 or 4 years recently. In that case, leasing is usually a better deal since most of your money in those first years goes to interest so the best you will do is…
I know this goes against everything any every says, but I always buy (or recently, lease) vehicles new. The reason being that I'm a single guy with no family. If something happens to my car, I am basically dead in the water as far as travel. To me, it is worth it to pay the extra to get a new car with a warranty and…
Even if your company participates in the program, you may not be able to get Office. We are a part of the program, but when we reupped our Enterprise Agreement (the contract with MS that allows access to this program) they changed the Home Use Program so that MS Office is the 365 version only. We can still get…
They can be hard to enforce simply because the company has to know where you went to work. I know many people where I work who simply kept quiet about where they working after they left and the company never found out.
I like Pomplamoose but the cheesy keyboard at the beginning just doesn't do it for me. For my money, Tori Amos will always have the definitive heart breaking rendition of that song. I never realized exactly how sad it was until I heard her version.
I like this idea until you say that all of your My Job died funds should be in the market. While that is good for some of them, putting them all in there (even in fairly safe mutual funds) means if the market goes south with your job, then you don;t have the funds you thought. Think about when the last recession hit.…
I almost always book through Priceline and I have never had what I would consider to be a bad room. The other side of that is that I haven't seen the other rooms, so I can't really say if they are better or not. It might also be that I generally go for at least 3 1/2 star hotels, so there probably aren't a lot of bad…
And remember, these are the people that they want to be armed in schools. As if nothing could go wrong with a low rate rent-a-cop having a gun.
Maybe she meant she was supposed to be the waitress that went to Ashley Johnson??
This is what I go by. Sorry if you wait until you have 5 or 6 episodes (or a whole season) before you watch, but that is a risk you take. Either you keep up or it is up to you to avoid spoilers for the season. I am almost always a day behind since I download anything on cable and I avoid spoilers. But if the show is…
While the movie was paid for, they still wanted to make a profit. The more profit the make, the more likely a sequel is. So just putting it out as a torrent is basically allowing everyone to download it for free, not just the backers, and cuts your profits. Plus is basically means the next time a Kickstarter like…
That is exactly why they don't have one. They are trying to push people to buy Kindles. If they offer their Amazon Prime app to all Android users, they can't tout that as a feature of the Kindle. Of course it would probably get them more Prime subscribers, but they seem willing to sacrifice Prime users for possible…
I don't this article is really meant for people who are suddenly millionaires, but even so the idea of closing all your credit if you are rich is a bad idea if you want to stay rich. Even if you have 10 million in the bank, why would you want to take that out of whatever you have it in (say earning 10 percent in…
This won't actually work all that well as a coaster though. With the layer of glue, none of the water will be absorbed by the coaster. instead it will just sit on the coaster and probably roll off onto your table when you move the coaster. A good coaster should be somewhat absorbent so that the water that sweats off…
Am I the only person who read the end of the first paragraph in Stefon's voice? All it needs is a human garbage can.
"We are just trying to make sure people are comfortable," state Rep. Mike Kennedy, the Republican who introduced the bill, told a local newspaper.
Another great use for cooking spray is to make scooping cat litter easier. I always coat the litter box in a layer of cooking spray after I clean it. Then, when the cats inevitably pee right next to the edge of the box, the wet litter doesn't stick to the side and it easier to scoop out.
