It feels very MMA, and not at all Street Fighter. Blah blah bleh.

None of that power on screen came for free, none of it.

Always been a fun thing in fantasy & sci fi, people are willing to accept other races like elves, orcs, goblins, asari, krogans (just naming more famous sci fi ones), with all sorts of colour. And are usually on their side in the game/book/movie. Defending them against racism, like drow that are usually looked down

Another grey asked me to post it for your grey acquaintance.

Those two things are not exclusive.

Thanks for continuously reporting these stories (and the memos). The more it’s out there, the more they can’t run from it. Keep this issue visible.

Can’t wait for it to be nothing but eight fucking hours of QTEs...

Yeah, I think the way Disney+ has been sticking with a more traditional weekly model is better for extended buzz. Encouraging that kind of water cooler conversation that spreads popularity. Netflix birthed the binge though, and goodness knows it worked for them in the past, but I think it only works if you have a real

Despite the enthusiasm and clear love for the source material from both cast and crew, the adaptation fundamentally failed to understand what makes anime—and Cowboy Bebop in particular—so special in its original format...

I find the specific chunk of criticism outlined to be so aggravating. Because I watched the anime prior to the live action and felt like one of the anime’s *weaknesses* was an overreliance on “cool” over “logic”. It’s probably worth noting that the lighting, textures, and materials in the final render make a tremendous impact - I would be curious to see the original animation applied to the final model.

Taking a huge stab in the dark here so I could be flat out wrong.

It’s always annoyed me when media has female animal characters appear more human but then have the male characters look more like animals. It’s not even just a Japanese thing, since Blacksad has the same problem.
