It sounds to me like the answer as to what was wrong with the word choice was given to CIS pretty loud and clear, along with several other messages that CIS decided weren't worth adding to the letter but which definitely make this "transgendered" ex-friend into an irrational, shrieking harpy (trust me!)

The longer I think about it, the more certain I feel that it's more of a matter of the "I'm so brave because I know one of them there Transgendereds" article being insulting for plenty of reasons other than a single word choice.

"The story of why I'm very brave because I have a friend who's a negro."

That sounds like so much WORK. Ugh.

Oh, we all own the genitals of trans people, don'tcha know. After all, they made the decision to be born in such a way that the question of what they're going to do regarding their genitals is a deeply personal and difficult question for which each of them will have a different answer, so obviously it's up to them to

Actually, the best reaction is to categorize the person as some sort of irrational, shrieking harpy and then beg the first expert you can think of for some kind of validation of your position.

I wouldn't say that I'm an expert in the subject by any stretch, but my understanding is that transman and transwoman are perfectly fine.

Jillian Gaycobs! Get it right!

"You'll never meet a girl like Jill,
No, not one in a billion.
Of all the girls that ever will,
The willingest is our Gillian!"

I don't think I'll ever have a better example of Netflix shenanigans than when "Because you liked King of the Hill" had Hoop Dreams as the #1 suggestion. On the bright side, at least it gives me something to awkwardly force into Netflix discussions!

Buffy does not wear its 90s cheese. The 90s cheese wears Buffy.

And lo, the Communitariat did stand astride the AV Club, one foot astride the shore of Dan Harmon's return and the other risking severe burns because of that gas leak.

MOI?! SURELY NOT

I didn't mean to type this much, so I decided to go back and redo my opening paragraph to apologize for all of it. The short version - I'd only seen David Morse in House, then I saw Treme so I went back to watch House. EXCITING STUFF.

Some women just can't take a compliment!

I posted this on the main review, but in the interests of it not being buried, here's a link to a transcript from the "Repilot" of Scrubs, at the end of episode 901. The same voiceover line from our Repilot is at 24:11 in this transcript.

I went ahead and confirmed - the voiceover is the same as the 'repilot' of Season 9 of Scrubs. Starts at 24:11 on this transcript

ONLY IF YOU LIKE THEM FOR THE SAME REASONS!

He's bringing the black back to NBC! Ain't that right, my spaghetti?!

I was just thinking the same thing!
