As much as I like Wambach I think part of it is ego between Wambach/Ellis & Ellis/rest of the team. Hence why Ellis’ tactics & adjustments have me feeling anxious. Did you read Wambach’s quotes about her teammates in the NYT? That was very telling for me which makes me somewhat nervous.

She’s a phenomenal player but she isn’t the player she was years ago. That being said, she’s vital to to team but Ellis has to be careful about how she uses her when other options are available. Her comments in the NYT didn’t put her teammates in the best of light.

Ellis, Wambach, and their lack of chemistry might come to haunt them when it really matters. I’m not really sure Ellis is capable of making the proper adjustments/tactics in-game either and I hope she proves people wrong. Their defense also worries me depending on the XI.

How much women’s football does the person writing these previews actually watch? And I’m talking not just on the international level but NWSL Europe, etc? Lots of inaccuracies and misinformation in these previews.
