It’s a lot more complete now, but I put almost 20 hours into it, and I never got one mission completed, because of the bugs. CTDs, mission waypoints not triggering, my ship continuing on its way in space but leaving me behind...I stopped playing it at all, because I was so pissed off that I was burning through money

They started out with Roberts saying he wanted to make the game he always wanted to, when he made Privateer and Freelancer. Then, he fell into literally the same trap the Greg Broussard did, with Duke Nukem Forever. New tech seemed fun and shiny, new features sounded neat, he can’t accept that he’s made a mistake in

I backed it back then, too, and just kinda forgot about that because I turned off emails from RSI (back when it was still RSI), because I was tired of hearing about updates for a game I couldn’t even download yet. Tried it for the first time last year. Holy cow was it an unplayable mess. My friends who play say it’s

You know, there are other things on Tony’s menu, besides the bacon... giant plates of pasta, giant plates of eggs, giant plates of steak, giant plates of...well, you get it...

A lot of the roads in Michigan end up being prototypes for how things will be done later, in other places. Ford is no stranger to this practice, as a huge number of “hmmm...will this work?” sort of roadway design exercises litter the city of Dearborn, all around the Ford campus. Someone’s got to figure out if this

Was Road Blasters the one that was a driving game, but ALSO had a light gun?

I’m so glad someone got the reference!

Wow...Where does the Jalopnik staff get their weed?

Am I missing something? That video clip of Biden and Barra is specifically about being a photo op for GM investing a bunch of money on EVs. Has Tesla considered inviting the President over, for a similar op?

Yeah this is a province of Canada that so deeply fetishizes parts of American oil culture, that plenty of them who have never been to the US, or met people from the US, affect a Texas accent - just to be more redneck. Most of the Canadians I know shake their heads harder at this sect of Canadian culture, than they do

Someone on Reddit just finished an STI swap into their Crosstrek:

The crackiest of pipes.

I’d kinda rather do the Frankenmotor build, with heads TWE has done their magic to, some Delta cams, and EL headers, just to see how high the HP can be bumped without a turbo. I’m a bit weird, though...

My last 2 Imprezas (a bug eye RS and a hawk eye 2.5i) were 155hp and 145hp respectively, and they both managed fine with that amount of power. The Crosstrek is notably heavier than the heaviest GD Imprezas, even at their heaviest. 180 would be a much better amount of power, at least with the 5 speed. Maybe the closer

Mine’s a 2017 Premium with a 5 speed. You are correct. You basically have to beat it like a rented mule to get any sort of quickness out of it.

Fuck the CVT. I bought mine with a 5 speed stick. Still slow as heck. I was losing speed going over the Vail pass last winter, in 3rd gear. You’ve really got to keep the RPM up above 3500 to have any sort of jump, in any gear.

Yeah, the problem is so many people have scavenged them for those applications, and Frankenmotor builds, that there aren’t many left to snag the heads from!

Which I’m grateful for, but I’d still rather have the horsepower, and do a weekend’s worth of fiddling in my driveway to put them into an EJ25 one time.

No, I’m definitely thinking of the EJ22 heads on an EJ25. It was a popular thing on rs25.com and NASIOC for a hot minute. Do a search for “Frankenmotor” in any online Subaru community that’s been around a while, and you’ll find the swap I mentioned. It gets higher compression, and displacement out of the EJ25.

Having owned an EJ251, a couple EJ253s, and an FB20...I kinda wish I still had the EJ, even with the head gasket issues. My Crosstrek has earned the nickname of “the gutless wonder”. I’d rather swap to MLS gaskets on the first change, than just constantly wish for more horsepower...
