German chassis, French engine, English build quality...

My R55 was at 127k when I got rid of it. VANOS gonna VANOS, some gremlin in my turbo plumbing somewhere that replacing every component didn’t fix, oil seeping up a sensor line on its way to fry the ECU, and yeah...oil consumption that makes any of my Subarus look positively conservative by comparison...

Just priced out the VR6 version of one of these (ok, S-Line, not S4, but still...) when I was car shopping for my girlfriend. It came in about half this price, just as clean, at a used car lot. Can’t say I’d pay this much more for this example...

Part of me wants to say the Testa Rossa, but I’ve gotta go with the Conquest TSi (Mitsubishi Starion outside the US), with the louvered rear window. Just gets that angular, neo-futuristic styling from the 80s right.

Hey, at least it was an R53. The R56 generation was even less reliable as the miles tick on...

I’ve gotta go with ND. It’s not a terrible price for one of these in clean condition, but...there’s just so much to un-fuck, that it should cost half as much.

That’s kinda the plan. I’ve got catnip spray to scent the carriers, and I’m gonna grab some actual catnip this evening after work. It was either that, or the kitty-xanax the vet uses, but I couldn’t get any of that. Still, wrangling them each morning for 3 days is gonna be...fun.

The first time I drove to Vancouver from Detroit was something of a comedy of errors. I took a buddy with me, so we could try to get there without stopping, driving and sleeping in shifts. Well, that works great if you trust your buddy’s driving, and don’t feel like you have to stay awake, in case something stupid

Being trans is quite an experience, and one that most of the world hasn’t the faintest clue about. Charlie goes to great lengths to show non-trans people what it’s like to be trans, and just how...normal most of us really are. That’s something that shouldn’t need saying in 2021, but with so many people actively trying

Man I just got back from my first trip to California, and seeing lane splitting in person for the first time. You are not kidding about it being ballsy - especially with how few drivers out there do things like check blind spots, and pay attention to stop signs! About to move there, and I’m wondering if I should

It’s clean, it’s a somewhat interesting show car, but you know what it isn’t? Worth $30k.

I know the price is a bit high, but damn if it isn’t clean enough that I wouldn’t pass it up if I was in the market for an M3...I prefer the E46, and from what I’m seeing in the comments, I could probably have one for this price, but that recent VANOS rebuild is a point in this thing’s favor, for me. Having seen how

I’m all about the Samoas, but I’ve got to admit the new “Toast Yay” cookies are giving them a pretty serious run for their money...

I was gonna come to this article to make some remark about how you’re no Fancy Kristen (because of the preview paragraph), but I gotta say...that shop of the van version of the Soul is...actually kinda hot. I’d drive that.

How reliable are they? Looking at used cars for my gf, and I keep seeing so many of them...

While she wouldn’t have the turbo issues to worry about (it’s the 6 cylinder NA), that’s the sort of stuff I worry about. She’s across the country from me for a while, where I can’t help fix it without a flight and probably time off work, and saving up for audi part prices, and doesn’t have the budget to constantly

Haven’t decided yet. Circumstances have reliability as an important concern, but she found an Audi A4 S-Line she’s in love with, so... Fingers crossed?

I traded a not terrible, but not amazing 2013 Civic in for my Crosstrek. They paid me $300 more than I owed on it, and that was well above blue book! I felt like I’d cheated them...

Bought my Crosstrek from Carvana. It was great to be able to handle the whole process from my bed, and only deal with another person face to face when it came time to inspect and take delivery. That said, now I’m trying to shop for a (out of necessity) much less expensive car for my girlfriend, and I don’t see any low

Oh, great. A car twice the price it should be, that I have to spend a ton of money on, to remove enough crap to drive it without getting a ticket for impersonating a police officer... Hard no.
