It looks like the play was for one bomber to get in and detonate. While everyone was then rushing out during the evacuation, two others were there to detonate in the crowd. Fortunately, police stopped the first one causing the other two to go to plan b.

I think another part of the “What we don’t know” section should be the training of the police and gendarmerie. It boggles my mind that the attackers were in the theater executing people for hours and they were NOT challenged.
