What kind of tech have they sold to Kia and Hyundai? These two Korean OEMs make the best products in most classes they compete in...BMW doesn't.

This article is the first I hear of this setup; didn't know that BMW would license its tech out like that. A bit like Ssangyong and Mercedes?

Well, we have both, gas and electric cars. The takeaway above for me is that Kia/Hyundai are killing it. Doesn't matter what propels their solidly good cars - they just know what they're doing.

The "full report" includes mostly top 10 lists, and the brand list excludes quite a lot of carmakers. I love this kind of data, but...I need MOAR INFO!

?

Bringing science to the discourse. I likest it.

I’d be worried about overzealous tech inspectors denying approval with two different front lights. FCA has outdone itself here.

In Kyrgyzstan, the Prado js what everyone desires.

Most American answer ever. No clue how fast cars work; only, Displacement! Power!

Smoking hot used car deals to be made.

Strangely, bigger Hondas are tighter. I fit ok in a Fit/Jazz, but a CR-V is too tight.

Making an SD card inaccessible is exactly the kind of thing that drives me mad in the first place. In the Leaf, at least, the all-important SD card is easily retrievable. Which reminds me, I haven't secured a copy yet.

Not just that, Mitsubishis Dignity/Proudia was also the first Hyundai Equus, which morphed into Genesis. While Mitsubishi’s luxury cars landed face first into the East Asian depression of ‘98-’00, Hyundai sold 105,000 of their cars and paid heaps of royalties. Here’s one in Canada:

That sounds...preventable?

Haven't heard about that, but off to Google I am. In any case, that doesn't sound unlikely. At 10k miles/year, you'd be at a threshhold many carmakers consider a full life.

I have a 2012 Leaf that shouts "planned obsolescene" everytime you look under its skirt. That is despite battery changes opening for the possibility of eternal car life. Once Ford, Tesla, or anyone else makes a very solid, thought-through "Volvo 240 of EVs", the game changes a bit.

Wait, you actually talk about cars on J-nik, not Trump? Upvoted!

Oh gawd...you’re playing with fire, seriously pissing on democracy and further splitting society here, but this one just cracked me up colossally:

The "loaf", or Buhanka, is available in that retro-edition in Europe, via an importer in the Czech Republic. The trouble with this is that every UAZ sold abroad seems to almost double in price. And if you read German UAZ-forums, you will shortly decide that this is something you can adore from afar; owning one is not

I’m not sure they will make it to the US, but the Patriot isn’t too bad. Russian tourists come to Norway in these all the time, and these cars take a beating well by the looks of it. Russian press prefers it to the Niva, by a long shot.
