Yeah, they are cheap....but good used cars are cheaper. It’s just fascinating that someone would buy/lease so many vehicles in such a short time span.

“...driving indestructable Volvos”
I agree with your comment, but can't look past that you seem to buy a new car from the same crappy carmaker every single year. What is going on with that?
Looks like an EV design language is taking hold - very Teslaesque with a dash of Jaguar at the rear. Aside from the silly mistake of calling a non-sportscar for Mustang, it’s pretty much as expected. Now, next up: The Expedition-E two seat roadster?
Outstanding!
Is Lancia dead already? How haven't I noticed?
Ok, very convincing reply and I honestly didn’t know the US was that broken. I tend to think that if housing is unaffordable - move. If cars are unaffordable - find a carless lifestyle. All these solutions require a buffer and a modicum of free time to think and adjust. I met a bunch of tourists from Detroit. They all…
You’re right, the US is forcing its population into poverty on behalf of corporate earnings. Here in Norway, we had paid off our house in our early 30s, student loans - small ones - a few years later. It is not the norm, but possible.
It's funny how the assumption here is that people need a loan to buy a car - new or used - and that the loan is dictating EVERY aspect of the financials here. I would never buy a car with a loan, as these are two worlds colliding in the worst possible ways. Cash for cars, loans for appreciating assets such as property.
That would be criminally liable advice in Europe - there have been cases like that. Costly for the financial institutions in terms of repayments, reparations/fines and imploding customer trust.
Thank you so much for pointing out the obvious Achille's heel of this argument. Nobody is forced to comply with standards either...
The whole car is an underperformer that does nothing better than the competition...it’s heavy, ungainly and ugly, yet small and impractical inside. You wouldn't expect stellar reliability or outstanding resale on it. It doesn't have the awesome seats and stylish interior of a Volvo, or the comfort of a Mercedes, or…
Was the verdict signed "Kafka"?
I can't believe so few Volvo wagons are being sold. The V90 is the perfect car for 12/10 families, how do they not know?
That is one awesome extra.
Kinja autoformatting for my Opera-on-Android browser makes sure the COTD is unreadable...as half of it is off the screen and the screen width is locked.
What is even the starting point for this odyssey? It's on display inside the mall and some fools take it for a spin?
