Volvo is not going to build sensible, rational vehicles any day soon. Even though the image above is hot as f*, I’d prefer my classics in good, original shape.
I once jumped on a bus for 15 hours, took a 1 hour ferry afterwards, to buy a no rust Peugeot 504. Turns out, this car had no rockers either. Spotted that from the ferry with the seller waiting 500m away.
In Norway, lots of apartments with room mates now have one room that is AirBnB’ed. Thus, landlords can simultaneously claim the apartment has a living room (most of the time), get the apartment warm and in permanent use, and raise earnings significantly, as the temporary lease, of course, brings in more than a…
Well, taste differs, there are pink and gold Rolls-Royces out there, after all.
It’s gorgeous, too. A lot more toned down and more in step with the rest of the interior. The image above was nipped from BaT, but my perfect V70R would be painted a custom forest green with the caramel interior and a variation of Volvo’s Corona wheels. Those won’t fit on the p2 though...
What is even more striking is the choice of paint colours. They are actual colours, not the 50 shades of grey lots of companies do get away with today.
Hush, I didn’t expect anyone to actual watch this.
20 years ago, Volvo made an ad that fits like hand in glove to your comment. But I am afraid today’s memetastic internet population would outright condemn it as corny:

The VW Wartburg is not a 353 though, but called 1.3.
Wartburgs are easier still to get into, and much, much cheaper. Lawn mower tech in a stylish package!
The GAZ Interceptor V8 was faster than the period Mercedes V8's and, today, command 15k€ in good condition. If you can find one.
They are not even in the same league though. The 24 was the director’s car. Chaikas were never even for sale.
Check out mobile.de. Lots of people get these from Latvia, Lithuania etc to Germany and sell them in ok condition for 2-5k€. Otherwise, if you are in Southern Finland, going to St. Petersburg is a real option. Large market there, and you’ll find everything you want. Use e.g. autonavigator.ru.
The M21 Pobeda was a very popular taxi in Scandinavia. They always started, even in the coldest temperatures, were sturdy, reliable, and easy to fix by the laziest farmers.
I follow the marked for these closely. Seeing one imported from Ukraine makes me a bit itchy. When the Russians invaded Crimea, taking care of a well-kept classic was suddenly not a priority and the local market was flooded with extremely cheap, nice 24's. Often offered by young Russian soldiers, sometimes for just…
