So how much is really new? The asymmetric wheel lug system looks very familiar. Also, why does the speedo go all the way to 160km/h? Did the 100000km/24 (months?) part refer to the warranty? Massive machine, and there sure will be a market for it.

I disapprove the abuse of public roads for racing, but the appeal of sleeper’s over small-c*-cars is endless.

That’s the kind of celebrity news I can accept to read. Waiting for the next product of the VÖX creators then.

So what would have happened if he’d been passed by an old Volvo wagon? Heart attack?

So GM is doing the GM thing. In the age of the internet, one would think Chevrolet wouldn’t bother to even put the bowtie on the truck, and just sell them as Isuzus through their dealership network?

Now I can relate. The unemployed need to sell off their cars.

Thanks for a great read and a fantasticly thorough writeup!

Never really liked any Corvette much, but at this price, it would be interesting to get the measuring tape out and check how well that extra Swedish 245 or Legacy wagon shell would fit on the chassis.

...and that’s why car guys can’t hold on to even 5k$.

I don’t want to be the shade tree mechanic that tries to fix that underside cover and gets sucked to Valhalla. Well, reading that again...depends.

Got to say, as an economist by training, I understand how Southern Europe was f* by a misconceived common valuta, but you better not show all these empty leisure structures under that massively insane engineering runway to angry “we bail you out”-Northern Europeans...:

I first read: “Can the Tesla Model s go wagon?” - and, yes, I certainly hope so. Make it look like a Volvo XC70, let it beat anything badged “Hellcat”, and I guess it’ll sell like Subarus. No crazy doors, please.

...and here I was ready to give up humanity reading the paper news. This is fantastic!

I still have it in my garage, an all-time favourite! Well-executed ad that people are still learning about in marketing101...this one also fits the topic-ish, but it’s not as good:

Who’s happy with only two seats?

Interesting info about GM in China. We all know there’s big overcapacity in China, but how do GM cars hold up reliabilitywise? I would be baffled if they were above average for other foreign-/Chinese partnerships.

I can imagine! Grew up in the GDR myself (now a citizen of Norway) and these cars enjoyed quite some respect on the road, if not necessarily for mechanical aspirations alone. Almost bought a ticket to Russia this spring when my tax return and a beautiful, original ‘79 model aligned perfectly.

Loudest cars I know of. Imagine living in a row of 5-7 floor pre-fabricated Soviet blocs. ZAZ-guy goes to work early. Everyone’s awake, pissed.

Oh, I could live with one. But they f* up the interior and the rear became too generic and soulless, imho. Are you posting from Russia?
