There is a middle ground where you can give the crew 10-15 minutes worth of scenes where they can establish character tics, motivations, and set up little mini arcs for each of them. If this means a 2 hour and 45 minute or 3 hour movie instead of 2 hours and 20 minutes than I'm cool with that.

I also liked Loving more than Midnight Special but I really enjoyed the first 3/4ths of Midnight Special and was really meh on the ending which somehow managed to give away to much of the mystery and not enough at the same time. I'm just happy Nichols is making the list.
