Heard it on Canadian CBC about 15 mins ago as well!

I read the name as “ick” and think this is a far better representation of this waste of space.

Can confirm that they also bite...

I might have to take you up on that offer! Exactly, what’s 10 hrs when there are racoons to cuddle? I’m in Winnipeg, are you near Saskatoon?

Fellow Canadian Prairie dweller here! Please tell me that you are in Manitoba cuz I’m about to jump in my car and head on over your way 😉, Pancake snuggles sound divine!

Thank you, Bobby. Now I’ll have Jimmy Buffet playing on repeat in my brain all day! 😩

My daughter has terrible eczema, her allergist recommended Cerave. It is amazing in that it has cut down the amount of steroid creams she needs to apply. She uses the facial cleansers and moisturizers as well. The undereye cream has made a huge improvement in her very sensitive dry skin.

Star for clicks and giggles!

You are most welcome! I’m not a frequent commenter, but I read Jez every day. You’re one of my favourite posters!

This is a very roasty side of you that I am not familiar with...

My dear Mom died tragically in Dec this past year; the boys absolutely adored her. The day Oliver died, there was a double rainbow over the lake at our cottage. It was a sign for me that he had joined her. The picture we used for her obituary radiated pure joy... She was holding Oliver!

The boys were rescues as well. We adopted them from our local Humane Society when they were around 6 months old. That could be part of the reason why they never completely warmed up to us. Oliver developed wasting syndrome in the last year, coupled with a large tumour and neurological deficits leading to his demise.

I’m dreading the day when we have to say goodbye to Rodney. There is so much pressure in the guinea pig community on Instagram to replace a piggy as soon as it dies. I know they are herd animals and thrive on companionship but, like you, I am, not keen to introduce a young pig into the family to perpetuate the cycle .

You have cavies of your own? Rodney lives in a 2 story C&C (cube and coroplast) condo. It takes up a lot of space! The original pic I posted is of him in his summer home at the lake. It’s a kiddie pool, attached to a store bought cage with a plumbing fixture!

Aww, what a wonderful story! I just adore every sort of little critter. I was never allowed cats or dogs while living at home, however mice and rabbits were allowed! As an auntie, I became the official hamster-sitter. I would love to fill my home with rats, gerbils, hamsters, but alas their short lifespan would leave

Ooh, tender baby spinach. Yum for me, Rod the Bod not so much. Too much calcium, he excretes it right away. We got the boys about 4yrs ago when my 19 yr old was in a very bad place. We all credit the squishes, along with a wonderful psychiatrist, Prozac and Clonazepam with saving her life. She suffered a huge setback

I wish we could take credit! He and his brother, Oliver, were found by the Humane Society after someone called to report 2 guinea pigs on their front lawn. The lads either escaped some enclosure or were intentionally left to fend for themselves. Makes my blood boil. Anyway, I think we’ve provided them with a happy

I’ve got 2 teens who will fight you!

Yup, cavy_slave is another handle I sometimes use. They are so damn loud and demanding, I think that’s how they train us!
