My sister is a self appointed “crazy cat lady” and none of hers have demonstrated that longevity. I think her oldest (all indoor) ever was 16 and had many health issues by then. My neighbour’s yellow lab also lived to be 16 which I always thought was remarkable for a larger dog.

Canadian here. Can vouch that “greasy used car salesman” is ethnically neutral, and widely used.
