The SMT series in general has always had a very humanist streak about them, whether it be the power of the yoouth to break through society's conditioning expressed in Persona or the need for humans to forge their own path without relying on a cruel malevolent force for their own wellbeing like in the mainline SMT

Nobody was really hyped for rebirth until the special came out, and we haven't seen the creative teams announced yet. So I'm holding off on declaring this a failure.

All of the Inhumans books out of ResurrXion have been solid and it's being wirtten by Priest and Noto so chill with the slander

Fucking Christ, why do so many people seem unable to deal with criticism of Clintons campaign all of a sudden ? I voted for her and I can see the massive issues she had. Yeah she would've been better than Trump but so what ? She had no coherent easy to understand vision for the country , her campaign slogan was awful

Marvel doesn't do continuity reboots, thats DC they'll just ignore something happened if it gets too bad.

Marvels messaging on Hydra has always been confusing and weird, Marvel has gone at length to distance Hydra form Nazism so that they can be used as a generic evil spy organization while at the same time having them be very much Nazi's in everything else but name and convulted history.

Well this one has a retcon built into the story so Cap won't have to be killed have a much better character spring up in his place for years and then be brought back in a stupid event.

I wouldn't say that, the entire plot of the series is about how in turning Cap into the perfect soldier for Hydra Skull turned him into a stringent follower of Hydras older social darwinist philosophy rather than Red Skulls Neo Nazi ideals.

Yeah but there is literally zero chance "steve rogers was always Hydra" is a thing that survives the event and becomes 616 history.

Honstly fan outrage aside, the storyline has been by far the most interesting Caps been since Brubaker. And while it may turn off some found, I think that the story is far more effective than most people are making it out to be.

Spencer wasn't the one to take Hydra away from it's Nazi origin, Hickman did most of that and writers before him too of course that's a whole nother issue altogether.

Red Skull hasn't been Real Hydra for a long ass time. Ever since Marvel decied that Hydra were going to become the generic bad guy fascist spy organisation. There have been like 500 retcons involving the Nazis being an and corruption offshoot of Hydras social darwinism.

It does feel good to have pricks like Richard Spencer smacked around but the issue will eventually become one of escalation. Once you poke that bear you better be real prepared for what comes next and I don't feel like anybody is really prepared for what that would entail.

I don't know, his work meandered a bit but I thought the most recnt arc he did was poignant and well done. Sam realizing that acting as Captain America is only furthering the oppression of the downtrodden masses that hes supposed to protect was a nice turn and his gradual disgust with milqtoast half solutions was a

That's not really fair, Spencers a dickhead but his twitter rants have been run of the mill shit. He's not out here spouting off alt right talking points.

Nah Hydra's been distanced from actual Nazi behavior for a while now, Spencer isn't really doing anything new in that regard. Blame Hickman for that.

I'm assuming it's because Hydra has been the generic bad guy spy organisation in Marvel for decades now and they don't want to change it .Also writers like Hickman have gone to lengths to distance Hydra from Nazi's in order to create a cool spy narrative without any unfortunate implications. It also means that

Yeah I think that the conflict between Steve and Sams ideals is probably one of the most interesting aspects of this run. The exploration of what Captain America means to people and whether or not one can feasibly fight for justice while the very symbol you wear on your back is used to abuse and oppress the people

True but at the same time the best Cap stories are when his morality (and by extension Americas morality) are challenged, deconstructed or otherwise put to the test.

Hydra are basically fascist social dawrinist dickheads who value strength and ruthlessness over everything else, the only thing that really differentiates them from Nazis is that they're older (in universe) and that they purge "genetic deviants" like mutants and inhumans rather the Jews,POC and anyone vaguely
