Yeah, Civil War is the poster child for awful events that come out of nowhere derail characters and suffer from editorial fuckery. I mean it took years for Tony Starks character to recover from Civil War and the next few events were spent cleaning up the mess that Civil War made. It was a fucking terrible event and

Bendis I think is done as the "event guy" for Marvel for now, Spencer or Ewing is most likely to take his place. Bendis does need to take a step back for a while because he is overstretched and the quality of the books suffers for it.

I think that the Secret Wars era of Marvel was pretty strong but ANAD Marvel fell flat due to creators being spread to thin and the status quo being fuck over by events. Hopefully this year will see the X Men reemerge as a solid line and the Inhumans go back to space and finally be interesting again. IvX is

I wouldn't have hated CWII as much if it wasn't delayed all the fucking time, if it came out in the summer I could just let it go but the constant delays and it fucking up other books made it so grating to read. At the very least Spencers Hydra Cap and Ewings Ultimates made the event seem less stupid and contrived. I

I feel like the GOP thinking that Trump won't fuck them over in a a spectacular manner the moment its convenient is a mistake on their part. Trump is only in it for Trump and anybody else can get fucked. The GOP, Putin and the people who voted for him are only useful in as much as they serve Trumps purposes. What

People also seem to assume that the voters Trump brought in for 2016 are here to stay when they're more likely to not vote in 2020 or vote against Trump when they realize that Trump isn't making their lives any better

I'd agree that the Young Animal line is one of the most experimental and daring in mainstream comics right now. I just don't think that outside of that line DC is really experimenting wit their properties.

It's not a boring run, but at the same time King isn't nearly as good as Morrison in what he's trying to do. While every arc builds on the last the arcs themsleves aren't nearly as satisfying to read.

Yeah, its weird because King usually has a good handle on dialogue but here it just seems to fall apart. So much of the dialogue is aiming for profound insight but comes off as cringe inducing.

It's weird because outside of the Young Animal line I'd say that Marvel is the more experimental of the two to it's own detriment. Marvel's main core is weak ATM but I feel like its more character focused and out there stuff is probably some of the best stuff of the Big 2.

Black Panther: I've been consisntly enjoying Coates run I thought that the most recent issue was great and am glad things are coming together

Hmm all these books look pretty interesting which is a pleasant surprise.

Some things are still sacred in this industry

The upcoming Inhumans titles seem like they'll actually be good which is a pleasant surprise and IvX is alright too.

I feel like how much you like the main Batman really depends on how much you enjoy Snyders take on the character because King doubles down on it. I didn't really enjoy Snyders run or characterization of Bruce so the main title does nothing for me

Technically this is only a one shot so you don't have to commit.

That's definitely a valid viewpoint to have, I guess since I never had all that much investment in She Hulk as a charcter I'm much more open to this sort of thing, which is what Tomaki and Marvel are aiming for I guess. I do think that the PTSD aspect of the story was handled well (from my thankfully limited

Its a well written issue imo but then again I don't really care about She - Hulk all that much. The character beats were good but it suffers from decompression.

The Batman line is still really weak outside of Tec though,The Super line is great again and Wonder Woman is finally being written well. The rest is a mixed bag, from what I read Titans and Aquaman are solid but I fucking hate Booths art and Aquaman bores the shit out of me, Justice League is a disaster, Midnighter

Wolverines death was alright, but I think that was less a reflection of its quality and more a refelction of how annoyed I am was by Wolverines overexposure
