Didn't they have a ministry of culture in V for Vendetta?

The console ban does exist on paper, but it is not strictly enforced. Piracy, on the other hand, is doing more to keep game consoles out of China than any government edict ever could. Sony released the PlayStation 2 in China in January 2004. The launch was a disaster with rampant game piracy and of the hardware

Plug'n'play consoles became a legal alternative to the banned home consoles. Nintendo released the iQue Player, a console it developed with software developer Wei Yen, whose California-based company AiLive co-created the Wii MotionPlus. The iQue Player was priced at US$60, and it is not a pure plug'n'play per se.

It wasn't a "blind" assumption, it was an astute one based on your questionable reaction.

Don't need to see, dudes probably using wallhax

Excuse me, did you just say "wow", implying you're one of those who was introduced to Robocop this year?

Can I get that on steam maybe? They're already leaving games out so it already feels like a Steam compilation :P .

Hey know though, this is merely a small brochure of largely TBD products. I'm guessing because it will be so basic, that the cheapest option is yet to be featured, since after all it was largely to be a streaming box of sorts, for a computer you already own. I'm not surprised there isn't much info/pricing on it,

Previous discussions about the PlayStation game streaming service have mentioned that plans are to make the back-catalogs from the PS1 and PS2 eras available along with offerings that debuted on the PS3. A recent patent suggests that Sony may be planning to add trophies to these older titles, too.

Haha, was waiting on the Maingear one, but mostly because that was the only brand of the bunch that I knew was decent. I actually own a Maingear desktop and probably will buy a new one from them soon (Unless maybe I just get one of these instead).

Alienware's didn't get a tile with specs?

I live in the Midwest and have had broadband since the 90's and never any cap...further more, oh so America can't handle digital distribution huh? Don't we already though? Discounting the fact that steam was down last night due to hackers anyway...

THEY wouldn't have messed with our games. That is SO not elite.

I WAS wondering why the Steam site was done, given the winter sale had just about ended I would think any traffic surges were done with. With all this talk of Valve being monolithic and godlike, I do no like how easy it seems to cripple their servers (either by hacking or traffic). Haven't they beefed their stuff up

Way to rub it in! I saw the sale and was going to leap on it, but got distracted for just a bit too long :/ . Oh well, hope they do it again during the summer sale :P .

Ugh, they actually decided to make them for sale? I promised myself a belated holiday gift when I saw the last article about it...now it seems like I have no choice now but to get it...

Is it just me, or did the picture for this article at first look like it was "lawling" at me? Thought Kotaku's implied video game related New Years resolution was "LOOOOOOLLLLOOOO" :P

Not sure why someone did this....but I'll allow it.

Hah, given that Akira blu ray was literally the next thing I planned to get and I was actually thinking about it last night, hard not to like this article, even if I take advantage of no other deals. That plus the awesome image up top. Glad I saved a couple extra bucks just by waiting a short bit.
