Yeah J-pop bands weird me out when only two or three members sing and everyone else is just there to dance. (I’m looking at you e-girls!)

I reeeeaaallly enjoyed this review of the series but more because I was reliving it in your descriptions of the events/your analysis of each character. I’m not sure if I would exactly categorize this as a review piece but it was definitely enjoyable and well written. I’d love to see more articles like this.

Now playing

Ah another day, another great recommendation! Good to see Kinote on Kotaku! I wonder if they are becoming slightly more mainstream now that they are on Sony. :O

I’d be downright disappointed if they didn’t have some sort of turn-based combat system in this game. I’ve played through FFVI and Persona 4 recently and their battle systems imo still hold up. Not to mention, I’m already getting my action rpg fill from their other flagship games (FFXV, KH3, Nier 2).

Japanese band names are amazing! Where else would you find names like Bump of Chicken, Creephyp, Radwimps, Porno Graffiti, Maximum the Hormone, Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, Base Ball Bear, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, etc.!

It was the stage that was by the lake with all the wooden shacks. It was only our 2nd time playing it but we couldn’t find shit and our friend had no idea how to play the girl lol

I enjoyed that game but some of the characters felt really annoying to play. I.e. the girl. One time, Mary couldn’t find us and we couldn’t find the next key so everyone just randomly walked around for like 20 minutes. >.>

One of the only ones I can remember at the moment was being able to enter the Gamefreak building in the pokemon games! Can’t remember which ones though.

I’ve always been a fan of Kenjiro Sano and I doubt he plagiarized it. Someones you just design stuff and it ends up looking similar to other works.

Ah, I feel like a chump for not listening to her solo stuff sooner. I’ve always enjoyed The Brilliant Green and the stuff you posted sounds great as well.

Hmm I generally don’t mind when Japanese singers and bands use English, but this is not one of those times. :| Maybe I’ll warm up to it...

Yeah I felt the same way. I thought at first he was gonna just do some damage and continue but he was just trying to deny Momochi from building meter. xD

As much salt as all that Elena healing was building, it was such a great strategy especially in a matchup that was considered a counter. ;)

I have to agree with you on that one in that it felt like a pretty crappy way to end EVO. But my god the tension was real and I was pretty relieved to have Momochi win after that malfunction cause boy that would have sucked to lose like that.

Tbh I don’t think Gamerbee was going to win only because Momochi had pretty good momentum from taking the first round and looked pretty good right at the start of the second round. Mind you, we’ll never know but man that finals was amazing to watch no matter the outcome. Can’t wait till the Capcom Cup.

Appreciate the thoughtful response. I just found it weird as I usually surf LoL Reddit first AND THEN come to Kotaku only to see the same thing. Either way, I’m glad you guys are even covering LoL at all since no one else on Kotaku seems to be playing.

Wasn’t trying to be snarky!!

I feel like Kotaku is slowly becoming LoL Reddit with all these articles taken from the most upvoted threads. >.>

Can’t wait for the next album! Goodbye and Sayonara Emotion were too good.

Super excited about that as well. Sakanaction can do no wrong!
