I love my girl groups and Shangri-Las being so low legit shocked me. I can't even with them not including Darlene Love.

Juju is one of my favorite albums ever. Full disclosure, I got into Siousxie through the Marie Antoinette soundtrack. Instantly hooked. Bought all of the albums at a second hand record shop. Juju was the first one I put on and I can still remember that first time listening to it. Spellbound alway always gives me

I haven't heard of quite a few of these artists, including Fanny but I can't wait to dive in.

When Duffy and Adele came out I was sure Duffy was going to be the bigger star. Ah well. It's hard for me to pick an Adele album because, honestly, I go burnt out on hearing the same songs. Gut instinct is 19 EVOL is my favorite Sonic Youth album, Kim Gordon is a huge part of that.

I hope they keep the ending to issue 10. Obviously as a cliffhanger. That will be a great mindfuck for nonreaders.

I bought the Southern Reach trilogy as a 1 volume book last year and read Annihilation. I liked it, but decided to wait to read the rest and now I've forgotten most of Annihilation and I'm not sure if I want to reread it.

The 2005 miniseries is on YouTube. I've watched bits and pieces. The acting is good but the production values are not great.

I freaking loved M&M's but I want to reread it in another translation. I read the Pevear and Volokhonsky and found myself having to reread paragraphs.

I just bought a stack of secondhand books, including The Sellout. So pumped to get into it.

And Mrs. Bighead's fetish, complete with scandalous photos.

So excited for this. I was listening to a lot of St. Vincent at the time and pictured Annie Clark as the protagonist. Really interested in how they pull it off.

I love EVERY SINGLE THING about this comment. I'm woefully behind on Ronna and Beverly so I'm spending the summer catching up.

I wanted to read them from the beginning, but at the time Redbreast was the earliest translated. I've been meaning to pick the series back up. This looks great, though.

Romero, Carpenter, Kaufman, they had personality that showed in their craft. I feel like most movies are just utilitarian lately. Focus on getting the job done, in the theatre and make money.

Bloodless, PG-13 shootouts are so uncomfortable to me. Not that seeing a nameless bad guy's brains get splattered is better, but something about seeing drones just drop with no visible damage is off-putting. And QT usually has development, so again it's an actual human getting hurt, and that has consequences.

Something about Hollywood slickness with the nihilism is so off-putting to me. It's so empty. Or at least the slickness reveals the emptiness of the nihilism. "Look at how fucking COOL we are tormenting this person!"

Haven't seen Livide yet, but I just watched Among the Living a few weeks ago. Underwhelming is an apt description. I'm stoked for this, though.

I recently heard the original story on a myth podcast. It is…not good. I agree 100% on inauthenticity. It's like if someone in England in the Middle Ages decided to make up a story about an African hero and everyone wore chainmail and lived in castles in forests. It actually made me admire the Disney movie more,

Queen Sugar is so goddamn stunning.

I thought they were, but I'm also a few years behind, so I couldn't tell if it was sincere. Going to try to catch up for the Christmas special.
