Dressed to Kill. I need to rewatch Blow Out.

Dammit!

God, that scene. The subtle way you see her disappointment! I truly felt for Serena Joy and it shocked me. It also made me fucking hate the Commander even more. I'm buying into the casting finally. Their age was a huge concern for me. In the novel I felt almost a kind of pathetic sadness for him, this paunchy

Forgot to add: I have the option with ads, and for the first three episodes I found them incredibly intrusive and they took me out of the show. But now I relish being taken out of the show, but then I almost feel guilty, knowing Offred has no outlet, other than her memories, and those have the side effect of causing

I had to take a break. Not quite halfway through the episode. Offred just got arrived from the doctor visit. Nick has the door opened for her to get out and knowing that it's ceremony night is too much for me for some reason. The freedom a car used to represent, living through her memories, but also her memories

I'm so glad the comments here are positive. I feel like I'll be able to come here and destress after each episode, or at least mourn with others. I've passed the book amongst my friends so I'll be able to do it in real life.

I cannot imagine being a woman, let alone a mother, watching this. Those flashbacks with her daughter are PAINFUL. I truly don't think I've ever felt so connected to a character before. As gay man, seeing the body on wall made me well up in tears. By the time we got the memory of the aquarium I realized i had tears

I want this so much!

One if my favorite performances of hers, pre-Legion, was in that Father John Misty video. This looks like a feature-length version of that and can't wait!

It and Candyman absolutely ruined bathrooms for me for life. Especially public bathrooms.

Now THAT'S a show I would watch!

Anyone else remember the pilot that was announced for NBC, probably 5 years or so ago, District Nine or something like that. It had a very similar theme (cops and detectives in a fantasy city, I remember something like judges were wizards? It sounded like a Law & Order with fantasy elements)but it never got picked up.

Just hearing you mention it made me all misty-eyed.

If you say it while blowing him he won't know! Win-win.

How about another woman?

Ooo, I've heard great things about Luckiest Girl Alive and Reconstructing Amelia (buy McCreight). I know my local book store carries Kubica, so I'll grab something this weekend. Thought I had Amelia on my Kindle, but just grabbed that and Luckiest Girl. I recently went nuts with gift cards and bought a ton of used

Lianne Moriarty is the fucking BEST. I usually abhor "women's literature", but a review of The Husband's Secret (what a movie/series that would make!) got me intrigued, then I read this next. Now I'm working through her back-catalogue. I can't wait for this.

As a severe emetephobe (I'm not sure if that's how it's spelled, I don't want to google and accidentally find vomit pictures), from the headline I thought the alt-righters were pulling the chug-a-gallon-and-vomit thing at the installation. Somehow this makes even less sense.

I've done exactly that, minus the chana masala. Gonna fix that soon.

There's an interview somewhere with the showrunner saying he has ideas for multiple seasons if it happens, but doesn't elaborate. Sounds like Moss got a some input with her producing credit, there was a mention of her choosing the shade of red for the handmaids' uniforms.
