Sort of. One I put a cage in my RX8 I took the airbags out. :P

Mazda RX-8. Stop laughing and listen.
A good friend of mine had the AWD turbo Isuzu version of this car and autocrossed it. It was like driving a rally car. Ridiculous fun.
I just bought a new 2016 Outback a little over a year ago. It was my seventh Subaru purchase, though admittedly my first new one. So obviously I’m a fan.
There’s an F1 news site I’ve been reading on the daily for nearly two decades. The hate in the site’s commentary for Kaltenborn has been vocal and perplexing. Here’s what I said on the article about her stepping down as team principal:
Remembering that voting NP is not the same as liking the car, that’s the way I went. I think the TC is stupid, but it has enough names of significance attached to it, the story is sort of weird and this one is probably one of the nicest you’ll find. At $12k it’s probably not a terrible investment.
While chasing first place. Ow.
I’ve shared this story on this site before, but it’s worth it to me to do so again.
Easily my RX-8 parts car. A friend pointed me to a local Craigslist ad for an RX-8 with a bad engine and transmission, but in the same color as my race car. I thought I’d buy it for the body parts for when I crashed. Which I have since done. Twice.
I’ve had my RX8 since 2008. That car and I have stories. I just put a new engine in it again - the car’s fourth, and it has 65k miles. To be fair, I do race it.
I am, of course, totally jealous. Robby Gordon is a badass and so are you. But I’m still alarmed that you’re taking this ride without a HANS, or even a helmet that fits. I’m not saying I’ve wouldn’t totally do it if I had to. It just makes me cringe to see it, as somebody who pretty seriously crashed his race car in…
I will watch anything these three do together, and some of the stuff they do independently (Reassembler? Delicious.). But I hope LeBlanc-led Top Gear was a good kick in the ass for them. Sometimes you need that.
I compete in NASA TT. Before I leave for the weekend, I have my kids (4 and 7) paint my car with finger paint. I’m heading to Pitt Race this weekend, so here’s how the car looks right now.
My Explorer, which I use to tow my race car. I bought Ford stock when they stopped making things like this dinosaur, but it has really grown on me. Just yesterday I fixed two warning lights in an hour for $15. I sort of love it for the same thing I sneered at a decade ago - its cheapness and outdated simplicity.
I really enjoy your site. Kudos to you guys for keeping it interesting, fostering a unique culture and cultivating a community whose comments I actually want to read and engage with.

Because nothing is more important than being right.
I’ll try to share a good friend’s story as best I can.
I had one for fourteen years, tucked away in my garage and rarely driven for most of that time. I sold it when I decided I would rather race cars than polish them. I will always miss it. The SVX is special.
