Oh, for sure. I've bowed out of Spencer's work for now because I'm not interested in the story he's telling, but I have no doubt he's copped some terrible abuse on twitter and elsewhere and I certainly don't condone that.

Yeah, and that's where TFA worked for me and Rogue One didn't - I wasn't given a single reason to give a single shit about anyone in Rogue One, and it was a foregone conclusion that they were going to a) succeed in their mission and b) die. TFA was a retread of ANH, and it's worth criticising it for that, but I

Cap, Bucky, and Falcon = OT3

I'll accept a lot of changes for the sake of a good story, and was well on board for Falcon Cap, female Thor etc, but I really gots to draw the line at making Steve Rogers a Nazi (yes, yes, HYDRA aren't Nazis they're just worse), cosmic cube fuckery or no.

Oh man, totally. I had a similar notion when they announced that Infinity War Pts 1 & 2 were now going to be two separate Avengers flicks, but they're probably a bit gunshy about doing an Avengers movie without RDJ on the top of the bill.

Absolutely! I would watch a Secret Avengers (or whatever they'd want to call it) movie with that roster. Maybe even make Black Widow the team leader if they're never going to give her her own damn movie.

I think all the talk about this being the culmination of ten years of storytelling and all that probably indicates that these two Avengers flicks are about as big as any MCU movie is ever going to get. After this, some of the key original players are probably going to start stepping back if not outright retiring. Now

So is campaigning in Wisconsin, apparently.

Winter Soldier is my personal favourite, but Civil War would maybe top it if I wasn't so utterly sick of Tony Stark at this point. I need to watch Logan again, but I definitely think it's an all-time top three superhero movie.

And even then, Eccleston wasn't so much miscast as horribly underserved by the material.

That's the exact bit of dialogue I was thinking of!

I love Tucci so much in First Avenger. It's a nicely written little role anyway, but he brings such extra warmth and kindness to it.

I believe that's technically trash talk. Trash talk is all hypothetical, but smack talk is happening right now.

I've been predicting bearded Cap, mostly because I gather Chris Evans doesn't like being clean shaven and rogue Cap is a great excuse to indulge that.

I'm going to, but you don't have to come along. There's lots of cool shit you can do instead.

Yeah, it's not flawless but it absolutely nails why Cap is the moral centre of the Marvel universe. I thought Chris Evans was good casting when they announced him, but holy shit did they strike gold when they finally convinced him to take the role.

I could be wrong, but it seems to be sentiment has shifted since then. I guess part of me also figures if you're going to get beaten, you might as well do it standing for something rather than offering a watered down version of what your opposition stands for.

It's not a terrible idea, IMO, but I'm sure they'd fuck it up if they did do it.

What a bizarre and unfounded assumption.

Hey, by all means keep blaming everyone else for your absolutely abysmal voter turnout and the destruction of your traditional base. Enjoy eight years of Trump!
