No.  Just before my company went public our CIO left.  We did just fine without him.  Just before sealing the deal on a huge acquisition, we lost several high level directors.  We did just fine without them.  There are plenty of people already in a leadership position to step in and take over.

These stories are always weird to me. It’s like gamers think entire studios hinge on one person being there. I’m about to leave a position of 7 years just before launching a project, because I’m ready to move on, but my employer and their projects will be fine after I leave.

This was a fiber line connecting to a data center. This could have been miles from the affected location. The real problem is why this datacenter didn’t have redundancy in place. Here our fiber connections are backed up by MPLS, cable, and cellular.

It’s a fun game with friends, and basically another Fallout game alone. Since it’s on GamePass it’s worth checking out, you can have tons of fun without spending a penny.
