I thought it was a reference to him not being sure whether her physical beauty outweighs how annoying he finds her.

Gilpin has a real Rhea Seehorn vibe to her.
Yeah, good point. He should get more lines.
He deserves an entire season all to himself. I know that kind of exposure might tarnish his allure but he is such a terrific and unique character.
Some of those shots of Nikki with the shotgun pointed at Emmett look straight out of No Country for Old Men.
No offence to Malin Akerman but this is a show about three people.
This was an amazing episode until the reveal at the end because despite what basic morality says, I want Chuck to lose - lose big, and often.
Their relationship is marked by how closed off they are to each other. It makes sense none of their scenes would be passionate or hot.
Is Howard's last name a reference to Harry Hamlin and LA Law?
It's in Frasier territory for sure.
We can already see in this episode that she's aware that a strident dedication to her profession nearly caused her death and potentially many others, and we see her slipping into a slacker lifestyle that could easily become her new routine considering Jimmy's money troubles.
Is he dead for sure? I can picture the season 4 cold open being an intense close-up of an exhausted, sweaty Chuck bursting out the front door.
That's the loudest I've laughed all year. This season hasn't clicked for me but that scene is an all-timer. Every line calibrated and delivered to comedic perfection.
Only time all season I felt like the casting was justified because he brought it here. I kind of wish they only cast him as one brother and left Scoot McNairy in as Ray because he had scumbag all tied down.
The writing lets him down but he gives more justice than it deserves with his delivery and his presence.
Would still watch.
I served my time by watching the first season of Franklin & Bash (I was young and impressionable).
Yeah, I forgot about that kid, that whole arc was a rumination of depression and misery.
I think I like Kim so much I am willing to watch Whitney just to get more Rhea Seehorn in my life.
I just want Kim to be okay when he does (and he has, and she isn't, and this isn't looking too good).
