Maybe those bits are something new entirely. (They don't resemble anything on the other big shows in the same way that, say, "Stupid Pet Tricks" and "Jay-Walking" both fit nicely in the space between Monologue and Interview.)
That's interesting: I consider those extensions of the interviews more than sketches. (You kind of have to, you know, WRITE a sketch.)
For those that've read the interview:
Thanks to their production schedules, late night shows need to be centered on the interviews—sketches and monologues take a lot of effort for comparatively little airtime. But a celebrity-hangout Tonight Show doesn't sound all that doable.
This is bullshit: George is still wearing the same Gore Tex coat but Brad Garrett's playing Jerry.

Just out of curiosity, how many people really think like ^THIS^ ?
LA CONFIDENTIAL is a fine movie; really nothing more than fine. That it's extolled as something great has more to do with contemporary Hollywood than with the movie itself — would it be as admired had it not been made in 1997? It's straight forward, slick, and very pretty; a fine movie.

See: "Adaptation." (2002, USA. Directed by Spike Jonze.)
That last part was a joke by the way.
Six years have passed since the 17-year-old me saw "Adaptation."
Adaptation.
At this point, I think it's fair to put "Adaptation." on the short list of contenders for best American movie of the '00s.
Bono is a clown
But what about Bono's grating, self-serving persona? Doesn't his particular brand of sanctimony have an impact on how we interact with him as an artist?
Astral Weeks is the greatest album.
What We Don't Talk About When We Talk About Roger Ebert
As much as I hate to point to Armond White as the voice of reason, he's on to something (and he's always ON TO something) here:
