Alright, so this is tangentially related. Within the last 2 years my friends and I have returned to tabletop gaming in a big way. We were chatting at our last game night and decided that we really ought to get back into D&D (last played together 10 years ago). Only problem is that I'm moving away for school and

Eh, I like the risk involved with the short time.

Don't get me wrong, I love both OoT and FFVII. I just don't think they're the BEST games in their respective series.

I'm not above running an infect deck against friends, but it depends on what decks they're running. One guy I play with has a stupidly effective angels deck, so I run my stupidly effective infect deck against it. But for normal play I usually run black/blue zombies or green/black graveyard decks.

10 minutes is pretty standard for draft.

Fuuuuuuck Eldrazi. Some friends and I put together a mono-color pauper bracket at our LGS, and allowed a new guy in to play. He asked if colorless were okay, and we all said yes. Then he busts out a colorless, common eldrazi with annihilator. We told him to leave.

DO. NOT. REWATCH. BEAST WARS.

DO NOT REWATCH BEAST WARS.

I've never bought into FFVII being the best game ever, I don't even think it's the best Final Fantasy. In my opinion, it has a special status similar to Ocarina of Time because it was the first game in the series many people played and benefited from a marketing blitz. I think that FFVI is a far superior game, and

Hey, let me rain on some parades here. Go rewatch The Lion King as an adult who has gained a critical eye for film, and you'll find that it has one thing in spades.

Really bad pacing.

It's a tragedy I can't recommend this twice. If I only ever had to watch one anime ever, it would have been this one. I saw this OVA before Rurouni Kenshin ran in the States, and it ruined the rest of the series for me. The series is fun, but...damn does this ova hit you in the feels.

TETSUOOOOOOOOOO!

Now playing

Some more love for my man Mamoru Oshii and his movie The Sky Crawlers.

Now playing

I love this movie so much, and Hajime Mizoguchi composed one of the best soundtracks ever for it.

Kind of understandable. I love Grave of the Fireflies, but I know that most of my fellow Americans can't sit through cinematic nutpunches like this.

I had a later version of this. It's one of the best toys ever because it so perfectly walks the line between awesome and crappy.

One of the greatest tragedies of my childhood was the number of years between JP and The Lost World. I was at the perfect age for toys when Jurassic Park came out, but was in middle school for lost world. I didn't want to risk ridicule from my friends, so I'd keep all my requests for toys at the time in an easily

Yeah...well...my uncle works at nintendo, and now we're not best friends.

YES. I had this one as a kid, and it is undoubtedly the best playset of all time. There may be fancier looking or larger playsets, but how many of them set off an alert when the T-Rex breaks through the electric fence?

I'm going with a real sword here, just because it's a pretty good looking one. I give you Joyeuse, supposedly the sword of Charlemagne.

What you have done there, I see it.

Fully agree. Although I would have posted Lawless Lands.
