You do know that those states have large populations of black and hispanic people who would be extremely harmed by secession, right? Like, you know the civil war was about continuing to enslave black people? Being part of the union is the only thing keeping those states from, at best, re-instituting Jim Crow and at

She too brave for me. In 2019 they told her straight out with receipts they don’t cotton to black people and she drove up there? Not me. This is why we need a new Green Book.

Fuuuuuuck that noise. There are LGBTQ and POC in those states that deserve protection.

There are many non-whites (and non-Christians) who live in these states and who deserved the protections afforded to them in our constitution. States cannot or should not secede- let the people leave if they can’t handle the freedoms that come with living in America.

yeah, go away, states with *checks notes* the highest number of black people! go make your racist white utopia in some other country where i wont be responsible for what happens to the black people there!

Problem is then it gets much much worse for the people who cant leave those states are stuck there.

your saying “these mistakes didn’t affect the final product”, but the emmy nod was for the writing, not the final product. Having a shitty script that gets turned into a good episode of television (which to be clear, this episode sucked in my opinion) should not qualify that script for an emmy.

You do realize that the time/episode constraints were self-imposed, right?  Martin wanted to keep it going.  HBO wanted to keep it going.  D&D said no.

Yeah..... I like to learn about screenplays too, because it’s one of my secret dream job, and I can’t believe how bad it is. Great screenplays can set a scene and describe a moment without trying to direct or tell too much, and this fails at every level. Why is there a Hiroshima reference that’ll just yank out the

Yeah, I pretty much exhausted my rage and am now just like ok, sure. The whole thing about the Iron Throne not being the target is confusing, but it’s not like much of the rest of it made sense.

Yeah reading this is yet another “holy shit get these guys off Star Wars” moment for me.

Okay, I’ve never been a professional screenwriter, but I remember reading in almost all of the movie script style guides — including Elmore Leonard’s essay for aspiring screenwriters — that you never, EVER use figurative, symbolic, or metaphorical language when writing screenplays. Ditto the characters’ emotions or

I’m all angered out, but take great pleasure in knowing that HBO killed their idiotic Confederate idea.

I do *some* slashers.

Me too - I’m a huge horror fan but I don’t do slashers or torture porn like Saw and Hostel.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who does like that levelo of violence for violence sake. It’s why I never got into the Saw movies and I love horror - even slashers.

Pretty easy to dismiss things that don’t impact your life, huh? I mean, the movies seems disgustingly, openly misogynistic, but that’s only a problem for WOMEN so ultimately, who gives a fuck, right? That’s literally what YOU just said. Tarantino hired someone who publicly assaulted a woman, he made a plot point about

Maybe it’s just me being an idiot, but something about this whole movie just feels...distasteful.
