Yep. Been thinking about this today with the whole Gina Carano victimfest. As a friend pointed out, folks like her want to say/think/do whatever they want, but they certainly don’t take well to other people responding in any form other than agreement to those (shitty) opinions/words/actions. They want it both ways.

Cops asked me everyday to run Blondie Plates (license plates that came back to blondes driving sports cars) when I worked 911. Every.Day. The day after I happened to run a potential date’s criminal record; they had the union rep waiting to try to discipline/fire me. Even threatened to sic the feds on me. My excuse

Nothing makes me happier than ads with same sex couples, interracial couples, and the term “happy holidays,” because I know someone, somewhere gets pissed

That boggles my mind as well, why are people so afraid of new stories with new stakes? I think the gatekeeping that Hollywood makes it difficult to see these work as those of auteurs who want to tell their story and people become cynical and assume anything that doesn’t fit a cookie cutter Hollywood pastische of the

Weathers explained that the “allegations against Officer Middleton [are] that he provided information that could be used to insult, intimidate and harass our officers while they were working the protests.” So, he’s worried that an army of cops dressed like Universal Soldier cosplayers are going to have their feelings

You just defined the very essence of libertarianism: only I should be able to do whatever I want.

Well see there it has the word “democratic” in there and right wing people hate democracy.

You’d think a self-identified libertarian would understand voting with ones wallet, but I guess he doesn’t like it when people he doesn’t like do it, eh?

To People who like to yell “Cancel Culture!!”:

Ah, yes, the old “PCP turns you into an invulnerable hulk” canard... As opposed to, well, the truth: if you’re on enough to make you feel no pain from a gunshot, you probably can’t see clearly, let alone walk in a straight line.

And the second amendment was about state armies, not individual gun rights. It’s almost like gun nuts rewrite the parts theydon’t like... oh wait that’s exactly what happened.

I related an incident at an indoor pistol range elsewhere, but here’s an incident at a local rifle range. I had out my single-shot target rifle shooting .22 rimfire at 50 yards. There were a bunch of dude-bros there shooting their military-cosplay AR-15s, and accomplishing little more than frightening the targets. (At

My brother in law got a gun to pwn the libs. Chances of him actually being able to shoot it are 50-1 against. He probably also thought he’d scare me, because he hates me, because I’m one of the libs and his children like me better than they like him, because he’s one of life’s assholes.

Kudos to you for imagining Lauren Boebert is in any way capable of doing anything responsibly. I don't have that much imagination.

My gun-loving brother described a scenario in which a PCP-crazed addict breaks into his (fairly remote) house looking for things to steal for more drugs, and he or his wife must empty an entire clip into the person because the bullets don’t stop them until they get right up close. My attempt to suggest this was an

What exactly do these people think is going to happen? My life is not that exciting.

You only see this in the homes of paranoid assholes. It never occurs to them that normal people don’t have to arm themselves to fend off enemies. Most sane people have no enemies, especially ones who want to inflict violence on them.

So get a fucking biometric gun safe. When my wife and I decided to get a handgun, a safe was of course a requirement. And what we ended up with was one that offers access through either a button combination, or a biometric fingerprint. If I REALLY need access to the gun, I can get it in about one second.
Having them

Well, yes an no. Modern firearms theology says to keep your guns locked up when not in use, but that is far from a universal agreement. Some people like this nut feel unsafe unless they have instant access to a loaded “gun” at all times. Which is nonsense of course, but it’s a common point of view.

Yup. I have deep Pennsyltucky gun-owning, deer-hunting relatives and they are ADAMANT about proper gun handling and storage. They also stick to rifles and handguns (no showoff AKs), obey all regulations, kill as quickly and cleanly as possible, track any animal they wound and use every possible part of the animals
