@Augure: Steve explicitly said during the keynote that the WiFi only aspect would probably only last a year (as requested by the carriers).

I've got a feeling FaceTime adoption is going to be very slow for the larger companies, but there's going to huge emergence of startups using the new standard. I'm actually kinda hoping Apple makes some behind the scene deals with Skype, Microsoft, Aol, and Qik to force an adoption.

The problem is that Apple gets pissed when it reads on Gizmodo that iPhones running 4.0 were on Apple's campus back in 2009.

I think Apple would be worse off it Jobs hadn't gone. He came back with all of NeXT's IP, that alone makes ousting him worthwhile.
