There is something special about DA : I. I’m not one for huge 40 hour games. I honestly prefer linear games ~10 hours. This game came out right around the time we had our first kid, and something about it just hooked me (lack of sleep? haha). I played 90+ hours, all the expansions, I just loved everything about it. It

unfortunately there are virtual PO box services out there, so you can spin up tons of addresses, and then you can redirect the packages once you get a tracking number, as long as you’ve “verified” your address through ups/fedex/ontrac.
It definitely slows them down, but not 100%. As long as the profit they get

Well at least for us, the bot mitigation is at the edge (at the CDN, so not on our servers).
Massive spikes of traffic are issues even for us, you can only autoscale so quickly, but it usually is a single point of failure, like a database, that becomes the bottleneck.
Adding bot mitigation however can definitely help

Unfortunately, having the power to train ML models doesn’t mean they have the data.
There are several 3rd party solutions though, that could be implemented and tweaked.

At least for us, we integrated 3rd party solutions that already have trained models.

CAPTCHAs won’t really do anything for determined bot networks. They just farm the captchas out to captcha farms, where real humans solve them for a few cents.

The best defense against bots are Machine Learning algorithms and AI. I’ve helped implement several bot mitigation strategies over the last few years. It is

Censoring of music should be legal, with approval from the creator. I am against censorship in general, as it is changing an artist’s work, but with their permission, and their hand, it’s fine, imo.

Inquisition was my start in the series, and is probably the only modern RPG I sank 60+ hours into. I loved it. As others have said, the key is to leave the starting area pretty fast.

I honestly don’t understand why they haven’t embraced thumbdrives. Distribute it on a 128GB thumbdrive, they are so cheap now days

Well if a Review didn’t give a reason why they rated the game a certain way, that isn’t really a review? I don’t think that’s really a big ask of a review?

Even if you hated the game, you can say, “I hated the game because...” without threatening the creators, voice actresses, and other people involved in the creation of the game.

If only they could release games....episodically.....

It did seem like there might be multiple viewports, so there is possibly a 3rd person mode.

Did Epic force the game makers to be exclusive with them? Because your anger should be at the developers, NOT with the new publisher...

Oh yeah, PCs will catch up definitely, but if you’re making a game for PC, there is probably not a huge portion that have fast NVMe drives, so they kind of get stuck being used for “faster loading”, instead of this use case, which is, extremely efficient streaming. With consoles, since they are all the same, allows

Exactly, PC space will catch up, but as of today there isn’t anything that fast. That “preview” hits 8GB/s, while Sony is hitting 9 (albeit compressed). PC will catch up definitely, but the problem with the PC space, is users will be on tons of different hardware, so you can’t build your game around user’s having a

“The PlayStation 5's new solid state drive isn’t your run of the mill PCIe 4.0 SSD. It’s heavily customized on a number of levels, including its revamped 12-channel memory controller. While on the surface it has similar specs to a PC-level SSD like PCIe 4.0 interface with 4x lanes on an M.2 card using the NVMe

I don’t think you quite are understanding just how fast the PS5's SSD solution is. It is far above anything available even in the PC space right now. While one usage of that is to eliminate load times, the other is streaming in game assets into ram extremely quickly.

To be able to populate 9GB of assets into RAM within

Sony allows you to remap buttons at the OS level, so you can do full controller remapping for any game. I thought Xbox did the same thing too (but I don’t have an Xbox so not 100% positive on that)
