What I’m not seeing discussed is what’s going to happen to those of us with TDIs that we don’t care to sell back. There is no suitable replacement. I may yet replace it with something different, but if I choose not to, then what? I’m getting the feeling from the articles I’m reading about the latest developments that

Tangentially related: Am I the only person who never, ever considers fuel economy when making a vehicle purchase? I buy what I want, I don’t care what kind of mileage it gets. The impact average MPG has on the total cost of ownership delta between cars in the same class is fucking peanuts. Seriously, what are you

Wait, I get to hump a pumpkin in public AND be a fantastic racing driver? What’s the catch here, again?

Rofl. $10k. Crack pipe.

You know, I manage to make use of all 405hp in my Z06 virtually every time I drive it, even if I’m just going a few miles. The least powerful car I own has 140hp and about 240lb/ft of torque, and it gets beaten like it owes me money.

Call me jaded or whatever, but a V8 Vantage hardly qualifies as a “dream car” in my book. They’re not special enough to attract any kind of attention where I live, and it’s not like the car is so expensive as to be unattainable, which is, I think, crucial to being considered a “dream car.”

Came here to say this.

It’d take an awful lot more than being CEO of a car company to get me into a Mercury Marquis. Like rohypnol and a severe concussion.

Car? As in singular? If I don’t want it badly enough to pay money for it, odds are I don’t want it for free, either (unless I can sell it.) Off the top of my head:

In theory, you should be able to expect that people will exercise a reasonable standard of care and exhibit at least the minimal level of competence required to do their job from any company.

It’s a siamese port head (well, block in this case, since the ports on these engines are in the block, not the heads) ; the two middle cylinders share a single intake and exhaust port.
