I swear to God every once in a while I will look up this Tweet and stare at it on my phone and it makes me feel so, so much better.

One of the more horrific abominations I’ve encountered. I left that planet immediately and marked it for mass extermination via orbital bombardment...I had to be sure.

Rugby, especially sevens, is considerably easier to understand than cricket. It’s akin to American Football, but without forward passes and stopping play every 12 seconds.

I won’t post the whole thing (for obvious reasons), but here’s the lede, which I particularly liked:

Absolutely not. We her, and need more people like her, in lower courts, where day-to-day decisions get made.

When you sit in a court of law day in and day out, it’s easy to forget that your litigants are human beings with lives outside of the justice system. Good on Judge Wolf for not forgetting and for not being afraid to sometimes let common sense prevail over the black letter law. She is a credit to the bar.

She didn’t just come here to compete symbolically, either. She competed on beam, and has 3 ultra-difficult vaults- one for preliminaries, one for finals, one for both- including a Podunova.

Exactly. I can’t believe people are harping on the comment rather than her superhuman longevity in the sport. She is absolutely unique in staying at an elite level for decades when the typical lifespan is a couple of years tops.

Wow. I didn’t realize that there was a woman in her forties competing in Olympic gymnastics. Bravo for her. Also, I love that Jez only shows action shots of the female gymnasts instead of the male gaze shit that we so often see on TV. They are amazing athletes.

I’m part of a quite a few blerdgirl collectives and folks are soooo freaking tired of the lame ass excuses for the lack of a spectrum of options when customizing. My phenotype isn’t a fucking outlier. Brown skin, brown eyes and dark curly hair isn’t RARE, so what gives?
