The thing about ‘anti-consumer’ in the context of a discussion about gaming is that people tend to toss it around with the same flippancy and near total lack of understanding as anti-maskers evoking the First Amendment.

I also can’t help but wonder if Marvel is throwing Sony a few bones to keep their relationship on good terms so they can continue to use the character in the MCU without Sony rocking the boat.

So we can officially declare social media a mistake now, right? Like the verdict is in?

Just finished Ghost of Tsushima today, and I think it may be one of the most enjoyable games of the generation. It has flaws, no doubt, but reflecting on how I’ve felt after playing other AAA games this gen just makes me love this world and characters Suckerpunch has crafted.

I feel the same way.  Most of the battles in the game are much smaller scale, but it’s actually pretty impressive how the game handles bigger scale fights, and it does have that same kind of dynamism and chaos.  The fact that the combat works just as well on a small scale as it does for the larger fights is really

For the readers questioning how others could possibly gain pleasure through spending money this way, let’s remember the following human activities:

Yes, in Texas it is extremely common for fajitas to come with: shredded cheese, grilled onions and peppers, pico de gallo, sour cream, and occasionally quacamole.

Despite how “dead” Red Dead Redemption’s open world is from an interactivity perspective, it never felt like a knock against it. In large part because of the fact that the frontier it was recreating is and was mostly empty and inhospitable. You’d see tumbleweeds roll along the ground. You’d see grass or trees sway in

That was a great read. I didn’t know kotaku still did this kind of thing, thanks for that.

I went through a Huxley phase in high school. His stuff is very readable, genuinely thoughtful and somewhat breezy with the satirical bite balanced by often deeply troubling overtones.
