The Elite Forces games are solid first person shooters, but I am sure they look a bit dated. Bridge Commander is a Bridge simulation game, but I found it to be a bit difficult.

You don’t understand the appeal of a Battle Royale type game? Definitely the old man in you.

My daughter had me download the game so that her friend could snag Aloy through our Playstation. So I tried the game out. It’s a ton of fun. Maybe the Free to Play aspects will start rearing their head, but aside from desperately wanting to grab more characters, I’ve found them to not be too harsh.

This just gives the consumer more autonomy, right? I mean, clearly there is a desire on the part of the consumer for this product. Maybe CDPR did not feel confident enough in the idea to risk the development cost blind. Now they know the market is there.

It’s something to hear your youth referred to as ancient times. I typed in many a program that came in magazines on my trusty C-64. Even made an absolutely terrible Masters of the Universe text adventure. Good times.

I try my best to be an optimist. You are not helping.

Yeah, I agree. I totally get charging for the upgrade, since the PS5 version is more expensive. But make it an even charge, $10 to upgrade.

They actually fixed that, so it is not necessary. Ghost of Tsushima supports transferring saves directly. Of course, the game has to support it, but I am sure first party Sony games will.

Looks like it might be fun. It has to be better than Independence Day 2. Right?

I ran out of steam after the 7th, maybe 8th book. Hopefully the series can condense the stories somewhat. The first five book, I would say, were really gripping and engaging. Then things stopped happening.

I disagree with your assessment about how much was covered. I agree with your assessment of what the article was implying.

If you have kids, most people would agree that you would want to limit their time playing games. My concern is the blanket approach. Parents usually have a better handle on what their children can and should handle. I mean, most parents are pretty good. Parenting is not one size fits all, which this regulation is.

It would be nice if the article covered those topics. Oh wait...

I watched a preview. The game does not appeal to me in the least. I guess I am getting to the point where I don’t really enjoy mindless carnage, and find the casual brutality distasteful. That sounds extremely judgmental when read back, but I’m just talking about my own tastes.

The galaxy is more busy, but there are entire systems that are uninhabited, that don’t even have space stations in them. There are planets and moons that are devoid of any life, sentient or not. Sure, it can take some time to find them, but that is part of the exploration.

Interesting. I mean, the game has gotten more/less/more variety in Biomes and planets, and recently added a whole bunch of new star systems for exploration, so they haven’t abandoned that at all. It’s arguably a better solo exploration game than it was at launch.

Everything I read about this game makes it sound awesome. Can’t wait until it is ported to the Switch.

Yeah, other than the skeletons, I felt everything looked worse personally. Definitely a matter of taste. Those damn skeletons scared the shit out of me when I was young.

This was an amazing read.

I think the mod is not allowed under the End User License Agreement, so Nintendo can threaten legal action if it is used?  But I am not a lawyer, or expert in this field, so I am sure there are people already typing up their responses as to why I never should have posted this.
