Beehive valvesprings? you have to admit anyone spinning a pushrod motor to 9k rpm for HOURS has to be contributing SOMETHING.

Your copyreading is horrid. AF Course? Autocorrect is not always right.

Peter Orosz's writing is one of the few reasons i read "HA HA CARS LOL" jalopnik anymore. I just wanted to say thanks.

who in the love of fuck would run a 2110 on a 34pict? who??!!!

what kind of car blog can't spell cadillac? i call bullshit on this copyreading.

@edelaney199: you mean the same beetle, over and over again? hey, let's go with the relaxed "authenticity" here and have the beetle be a replica of The Sonic Muffin, and have it outrunning the stang.

look at the meat on DAT ASS. i'm a breast man but dannng that's a sexy rear.

is it me or are you not heel-toeing the downshifts?

@Kate's dirty sister: i hate that ad. the car overheats, and the owner looks at at it real tough-like, then drives home to his wife to have bonerpill sex. uh, what did you "take charge" of?

so the first "touch and go" referenced in the article was not a bolter (thanks rohic). I'm clear that no wires, no landing, too. we don't get to see the first landing the article talks about.

not to be a huge nerd, but aren't all carrier landings touch-and-go if you miss the arrestor wires? i wonder if he skipped the wires because of the engine trouble in the first place.

@tonyola: i had one of those and loved it. Throw it in 2 power when 2 econo is too low. i learned to heel toe with two gearshifts! :)

i suppose he has a turbo timer to let the car cool off when he screeches into the garage. that's the only possible downside i can see to this.

@sr20spitfirehotrod: you're going to have a hard time fitting the carbs to support 225 hp under that package tray. Honestly 160 hp in a car this light (it's no beetle, but it's still nowhere near as heavy as you'd think) should motivate it just fine.
