@Track and days do mix: if you have to have antiquated (pushrod) tech in your life, why not an aircooled 2387 with a turbo?
@Track and days do mix: if you have to have antiquated (pushrod) tech in your life, why not an aircooled 2387 with a turbo?
i cannot fathom why you all have a hardon for this pushrod V motor when inline DOHC, variable timing, variable inlet and exhaust volume, supertechy I4s have existed FOR YEARS that out perform this.
@Alfisted: anyone can use google translate... conard.
bastards. sue US aircooled shops that keep the beetle and bus alive, but trade on their legacy.
@Adam: what's funny about what looks like a class 11 vw? they frikkin started baja (if you consider dune buggies) and are a huge part of desert racing even now.
@sinikl: math fail. duh. 12%abv * 24 oz=four 6%abv 12ozs. Still, that's like a .06 and it tastes like ass, unlike 4 anchor steams.
it took you 1.5 hrs to put down 24 oz? so at 12% abv, this is 2 6 percenter 12 ozs, or two Anchor Steam Liberties. Not a six pack. And you metabolize .01 to .02 per hour depending who you ask, so, you basically are on a .04 buzz if that.
what, no BTCC stuff? I may have answered my own question when i tried to find some clips... mostly youtube has BTCC *crashes* caused by door-banging pass *attempts*.
@phoenix6666: watch the topgear where hammond tries to drive an obsolete formula car. you can't go too slow or you lose heat in the brakes and tires.... kind of like how you can't corner a sprint car if you don't slide it. hammond had trouble generating enough pace on cold tires to get heat in the brakes and tires,…
@DennyCraneDennyCraneDennyCrane: i refuse to acknowledge an 80s volvo as a classic, and as the Muir Idiot book makes clear, anyone with a socket set can maintain an ACVW (or hell, rebuild completely!). add me to the list.
@fooler: scott smallwood, who used to own supersonic in Columbus, owns(-ed?) the rally. you know some gem city guys i assume?
people** are still doing the headlight "eyelid" thing? really?
the problem with this article is that the mommies still have pictures of themselves as their avatars.
@fooler: i know the guy who owns the Rally in that photo. He said GbV were cool guys at the photo shoot (of course they were, duh!)
freno a disco - no-vi-ta!
i like how this article is right above the rotary article . so ah, yeah, FD RX7 please!
@Alfisted: i think the challenges are starting to get a LOT cornier. The electric vehicle thing was awful, the blimp v. car was totally fake, etc. Older challenges like the British Leyland one was at least believable.
@MaWeiTao: i thought it was an aircooled cam, in which case the teeth would be helical if stock and straight if, well straight. The cam is from a water motor so i'm juust wayyy offff
@sinikl: agh, you're right, way too long to be an ACVW cam. vw owner fail :(
@xyleksoll: oh, i was thinking type I. I didn't count cam lobes, but a T1 motor is definitely gear driven (by helical gears, stock).
