@Skunky: there's a difference between a cult classic and just a cult. The Mini Moke is cultlike, but not a classic (more like crazy). I think the Baja falls into that pile.

IF they're not told that this is being demo'd to the public. if that's the case, every engineer i know would say "whoa, we're not ready". i suspect the "sales" side of the world lied to the engineering team and…

Definitely use a collector company (Hagerty, Grundy etc) for a *non daily driven* car. I could not, when i was daily driving my 62 beetle, get covered by those companies, though.... no garage... too many miles.
