Sorry, I’m missing your point under the pile of dead children.

Or possibly how else do you bring attention to the cause you are there working for? I don’t know, there may be a better way, but she is a celebrity in some way, so taking photos with the people she is there to serve will bring more attention if she is in the photo also?

She isn’t there for vacation. She is there to help with a specific cause. The photos with all the people are to help bring attention to this cause, yes?

Actually, she does have posts in which she gave the names of the people. Funny how the writer of this article excluded those.

I think the context is important here though, isn’t it? If I was in some European country to help promote a social program and there was at an event for that social program, I would probably take pictures and post them to raise awareness for the program. I don’t know that I would name every person in a series of

But, the thing is, when a nonprofit asks you to be their global ambassador, there’s usually the expectation that you publicize your work with them.

Yeah, but wouldn’t you think that the main reason for her being there is to raise awareness of/give publicity to the organizations she’s there with? And that the photo ops are all part of the job?

Seriously? How the fuck is it eye roll worthy for a person to spend their vacation/free time doing something for the benefit of humanity?! Even if they’re just doing it to impress other people they’re still fucking doing it.

Oh, I dunno. I’ve traveled around in some 3rd world countries.

Maybe you just used a bad example, but I don’t see anything wrong with that scenario.

Okay please explain this shade to me. I am a white woman and have been to Ghana several times, I have a deep love for the culture and people, as well as the beautiful landscape. From my perspective, no Ghanaians have an issue or provide shade when I am there. Obviously I stick out like a sore thumb and am stared at

Men do. We have a lot of men who come in for bikini and brazilian waxes. It’s just not talked about as much. But believe me, they are doing it.

Why not men? You understand that the overwhelming majority of men shave their secondary sexual hair off their faces daily, right?

And when a man shaves his face, that’s so that he can look like a young boy again?

Hey, thank you for 1: telling me what I should do with my body 2: condescending the fuck out of me, and 3: being ignorant as hell.

Truth. I’m a professional bikini waxer, have been for 10 years. Nothing grates on me more than a woman says, “why would you want all the hair gone? I don’t want to look like a 12 year old” Ugh. Ladies. You are grown-ass women. Not having pubic hair does not take away from you being and looking like a grown-ass woman.

As a lifetime hair remover, nothing bugs me more than being condescendingly lectured by other women that my partners are child molesters (“Oh my god! When it’s shaved, that’s how KIDS look! Why does he want to fuck a kid though?!”). Surprise: there are other secondary sexual characteristics besides hair that

Here’s the thing. If Gawker had done nothing wrong, all of the proxy lawsuits in the world wouldn’t have sunk Gawker. The thing is, they did... they went to court... they lost.

It doesn’t even matter if it’s a Boston thing. Dropping g’s in lyrics can smooth out words and avoid them ending on harsh sounds. It sounds better to the ear.

I’m also not questioning the article, but yes, being from MA you are correct....she’s from Nantucket/Martha’s Vineyard and the accent on the island is close but not quite Boston. It’s more of a Rhode Island...I guess you could call it a “lesser” Boston accent. Which is kind of what she has.
