@Bill Clark: I hear ya. But my plan is a little different. I already have a wireless router, but it's separate from my wired router, and I only use it for the wireless access point anyway. And I don't use wireless that much to really warrant having it on 24/7.

@playstation87: To be honest, the main reason I wanted to do this was just to use my iPod Touch as a remote for the desktop in question, and possibly copy a file or two to the Touch or my phone (maybe stuff like sync my phone or copy an mp3 over or something), so I'm not really planning to leave the computer on at

Is there any way to use the wireless card in a Win7 desktop (that is wired to a wired-only router) as a wireless access point with access to the home network?

Anyone know how to enable lyric tag display in XBMC on a pc? In XBMC for Xbox, you have to load a separate script, but it looks different in regular XBMC...?

@chris0089: There's a number of tools, SubRip, VobSub, usually it's a batch file or script of some sort. I use a batch file one (have to look up the name when I get home) and after ripping the dvd, I drag the resulting file to it and it exports an SRT (or a SUB) file that will work with VLC.

I'm a bit late today...XBMC, I'm used to running it on an Xbox, but the desktop is very different. If I'm playing music, how do I get the lyrics tags to show?

@Tony Bullard: I just went through this myself with my HTC Touch Pro2. You're right, it's a ground loop isolator you need, this is what I ordered, but it hasn't come yet (maybe Monday?): [www.amazon.com] Many different options available, but the price was pretty good on this one.

@comodidit: ditto. Why do you want to switch? Did they pull some trickery? Do you not like dealing with them? If you want a higher limit and your credit has been good, it's probably only a phone call away....

@WilsonBabakin: Wow, so that's what Neuros has been up to! I had a Neuros mp3 player back in the early days of digital music. The Neuros Link looks cool!

@Bonsai_halcyon: I started out with a USB/U3/Firefox portable setup, thinking that they would never see Firefox at all. Boy was I wrong. Apparently it leaves behind little artifacts that result in virus warnings from HQ (they call it a virus if it's something they don't like).

Internet Explorer really does not like Lifehacker. It takes forever for a page to load, usually ending in an error, something about a script running for too long.

A tiny bit OT, but I have a java program that I'd like to pin to the taskbar. I created a desktop shortcut to it, but I can't drag it to the taskbar. I also can't right click—pin to taskbar. What am I missing?

@Bonsai_halcyon: haha, that's my point. I have some very knowledgeable friends who have lost a hella lot of money. Winning is rare, and takes an odd combination of skill AND luck, not to mention timing (and the first rule of the market is to not time the market? lol). Farmville is a better bet, too ;)

@Bonsai_halcyon: +1 on all the other replies (except the Motley Fool advice, ick), Vegas is cheaper and much more fun ;) (I'm a banker too)

@Joseph Morganelli: Sapphire martini, extra dirty, three olives (nutritional content).

@MPS: I have a similar problem where I'm using an nVidia video card and splitting between a monitor and an HDTV. What's most annoying is the nVidia control panel doesn't behave all the time, so sometimes I lose one or the other or all the settings, and setting profiles doesn't even work because trying to load a

Loooove my Touch Pro2. (and the Bunnies, they made me smile)
