"Hand Of Kindness" was my first (although I'd listened to a bunch of Fairport stuff before then) - it's a fun album.  Tear Stained Letter, Both Ends Burning, The Wrong Heartbeat, Two Left Feet, all wonderful stuff.  And if you can find the video for The Wrong Heartbeat (maybe his only rock video?) - it's very silly.
