I am against the death penalty, but there are times I am not sorry to see it happen. This would be one of those times. I still remember how furious I was when Timothy McVeigh’s execution was delayed. I’ll never forget that feeling. That is the feeling I am having right now- I’m against the death penalty, but this

You’ll pay much much more to house him on death row and see his appeals through the bitter end than if he was locked up and forgotten in the SuperMax facility in Colorado.

the capital sentencing process that the statute provides is constitutionally inadequate in practice...The results of the jurors’ good-faith grappling with the law—arbitrary, biased, and erroneous death verdicts—are intolerable as a matter of due process and proportional punishment.

Jesus sends a stork to plant babies in the cabbage patch. Duh.

But how would you even have families without drinking, sex, and cheating? Wouldn’t that just be people standing next to each other?

Didn’t the country music scene crucify the Dixie Chicks for speaking their minds openly about W. Bush? Or is it only nasty statements about minorites, immigrants and liberals that get a pass? Or maybe it’s only men that should speaking their minds? A little bit of both?

It’s the ‘country culture’ that’s ruining white youth, and destroying white families. It teaches boys that it’s ok to wear skinny jeans and cowboy boots, and just hang out at the lake drinking ice cold beer. Meanwhile, girls are encouraged to wear tiny shorts and find a guy with a nice truck.

That's a great verb for puking. "Ugh, I just trumped up my breakfast mom!"

I’m also taken aback whenever people insist that country music is “family friendly.” As if drinking, sex, and cheating haven’t been prominently featured from the get-go.

Ironically, the Right and Country Music in general have their own version of political correctness. The Dixie Chicks dared to say what they think, and despite that their views were aligned with the majority of Americans, they offended the Right’s sense of what is politically correct and they were blacklisted from the

Hello being so privileged that you can’t handle the concept of having to filter yourself when speaking in public. Sorry that doing what everybody else on the planet has to do and has always done is such a fun-sucker for you, Blake.

This quote from Neil Gaiman about political correctness has stuck with me:

“I’m not going to tell you what I think [about Trump or Clinton], but I really admire Trump for telling you what he thinks.”

“Maybe you should just try a teeny tiny bit to not express your thoughts in ways that actively hurt other people?”

For the first time in history, white men have to occasionally, just a tiny bit, think before they speak and be questioned about their words and beliefs. This is the “political correctness” everyone is whining about. How dare people that they’ve always been able to oppress, insult, laugh at, or dismiss demand respect

“More than ever, I’ve been hitting “delete” before I send out a tweet,”

I know when I think of country music, “politically correct” is definitely the first descriptor that comes to mind.

“Political correctness” has existed as long as humans have. There have always been people you didn’t dare disrespect. The only difference now is, more people are demanding their rightful respect. Boo hoo.
