I believe it was a mosasaur, not a croc.

“The DeWanda Wise character was a nice mash up of Indiana Jones and Baloo the bear from Tail Spin”
Yeah, 3 is fun if you’ve accepted that the first movie does everything possible with the premise, and it really did.
My best friend argues Lost World is fun if you consider Vince Vaugn and company eco-terrorists and honestly he’s kind of right. Almost everything that goes wrong in that movie is the fault of the protagonists. Also Roland is a fantastic character in an otherwise bad movie.
That said I’d rank the sequels (have not seen…
The third one also has some choice grumpy old academic dialogue from Sam Neil. Grant really feel like a university professor in this one. And unlike Malcom in Lost World, he feels like the same character from the first movie. He’s still a bit cold, still awkward with kids, still in love with field work, etc. He has…
3 is a fun little monster movie that seems aware of what it is. It’s not a classic, but it’s not the overstuffed mess that all the others are.
Good article, hope that we see more from this writer.
Yeah and what’s funny is JJ Abrams thought the same exact thing, but even he is more talented than Trevorrow (low bar).
I really enjoyed myself, there were dinosaurs.
It’s a classic distraction technique. People who want to defend a movie try to make it be that the criticism is all about the plot holes, which in movies which aren’t tightly plotted, rarely matter much, so people argue over those instead of focusing on the fact that the movie was, on all levels, shite.
I don’t think it’s good for cinema for movies that are basically shit but vaguely amusing to make bigger box office than movies that are fantastic, and ironically, often inspire a lot of the better ideas/film-making in the shit movies.
They’d definitely say no. Trevorrow thinks he’s a “serious auteur director”. He’s basically said as much.
Look! Look! We got a Last Jedi hater here! We got Last Jedi hater! See? Nobody cares.
Two reasons. One, the original JP decided to reject feathers, probably because the CGI of the era couldn’t handle it (they had excuses, but they were implausible - by that point it was all but certain most/all members of dromaeosauridae were feathered), so leant in to its own line of BS there. Two, Deinocheirus was…
So, Texas politicians will praise this as the free market working as intended right?
Nope, I’m right there with you.
Found the Mangalore, everybody.
Probably not, but I will admit, I am curious...I get not loving it, but genuine dislike seems like a strong response. What elicits it?
