Indians are one of the largest group of expats in Dubai. 80 percent of the students in my Gifted and Talented program are Indian girls. These girls are straight badass, 10 and 11 year Olds who have plans for their lives, encouraged, nay, demanded by their progressive parents. They will go to school in the States, they

This is so heartbreaking, but I’m glad there is a way for these girls and women to share their stories and protect their identities. I grew up with a few female friends and relatives who told me that they had been sexually abused by a family member or an older family friend, i.e. a friend of their parents. South Asian

Do you understand how stigmatizing it is to identify as a victim of rape? Like at all?

Are women qualified to govern their preferences and behaviour? Absolutely. I never said or felt otherwise.

Now playing

understandable. It’s a serious boundary that has long term emotional repercussions when violated.

this is all i’ve ever needed. this is all i’ve ever wanted.

Like all amphibians, Newt struggles to balance his two lives.

Oh, this doesn’t mean Sulu is undesirable to women. Unavailable, maybe. But thank you for giving me an excuse to post a John Cho gif:

You hated her on Better Off Ted? I loved that show and was sad when they cancelled it.

Anyone who has ever been to a packed enough show knows that is a “please move your body out of my immediate personal space, there is no need for us to make skin to skin contact” elbow. And as such the nudging gets a little more aggressive each time when the person continues to ignore your requests.

Samira Wiley is just unbelievably beautiful and charismatic and talented— I really, really hope that she is able to find good, steady work befitting a performer of her caliber.

I stopped watching OITNB (temporarily), but I love Poussey and Taystee, however I can get them. Even if it’s a Buzzfeed product.

We already did that up here. :D

Do not worry about it - I think the reason Asian Americans (particularly those of East Asian descent) tend to be forgotten about in cries of PoC representation is that in certain aspects such as respectability politics and economically, we are much closer to the “white” average, and certain cases actually do better

AHAHAHAHA as a Asian lady it will be a cold day in hell before I see even a fraction of representation in western media - we may be better off in other ways compared to the issues other minorities have to face but in entertainment we are basically one big question mark. That said, I’m thrilled we’re getting more

Depressing, but not surprising.

“Calm down. If you are concerned about civil rights then you celebrate all the wins, not just the ones that concern people that look like you.”

I found the white feminist!! Missing the point, getting defensive over nothing, and brushing aside something relevant to POC (and presumably silencing one) all in one fell

“She would be alive is she hadn’t acted so ...free.”
