I started that movie at 11pm thinking, I’ll probably just fall asleep to this. Nope. I was captivated the ENTIRE MOVIE. And when it was over, I didn’t understand why.

It’s been a shitshow. Lots of garbage, people climbing on them, probably some amount of damage and/or graffiti.

I hate this on an almost indescribable level but (BUT) if it would get a modern day kid to pick up this gem in a way the old cover probably would not, I have to begrudgingly allow it.

The Wedge was amazing - I grew up on that show, and also Soul In The City and Rap City. They also showcased a lot of punk, great indie talent from the UK, and a lot of Canadian music that otherwise got no attention.

I didn’t get access to MTV until I was a lot older and it was fully taken over by reality-ish shows. Much has kind of gone in that direction lately also, but at the time I was watching, there were still the late night blocks of the Punk Show, the Wedge (!!) and Much Loud. Much News was still great at that point also.…
