Sometimes some of that beautiful mop on his head makes a break for it. They never get far.

Passing as one race while identifying as another. In America this is almost always a person of color passing as white. Basically, you are of one race, but your appearance falls into the shared part of the Venn diagram between the two races (called the Jennifer Beals effect in scientific circles).
You are right on this one, even though I tend to think that we smother our kids. In the kinds of cultures in which we evolved, there would be people around, talking to each other, all of the time. We evolved in an environment in which a kid could develop language by hearing it. These days we westerners isolate our…
Those aren't exactly federal holidays. On the other hand, Columbus Day is kind of a European "We won!" celebration.
Academy seems to be the best venue they could have, since they have done what could be done with the standard "where no one has gone before" settings. It also sets us up with bright, young idealists who would be very suitable withing Roddenberry's optimistic vision.
Personally, I do not want to see the seedy underbelly. I liked Roddenberry's vision in which humanity had advanced to the point where, while there were bad people around, society as a whole was underbelly-free.
I can't stop reading these Chinese ebooks!
Jon Hamm said the same thing about pubes. Well, what he said was something about how too much grooming down there creates a sense of expectations. Maybe the style pendulum is swinging into the bushes again?
Nice choice. Changing mine now.
"I can't believe how rude Gene Simmons was to that fetus!" has a real ring to it.
Finally! I was just thinking the other day that we were doing only good things with technology, and that we should be looking at more ways to kill people with it.
I read this as a kid and I think about it on at least a monthly basis. It was among the most prescient science fiction novels ever written. While the details are somewhat different, I feel like I live in that world every time I drive down the street in my pedicab.
She is charming and very pretty, but it is good to keep in mind that real people aren't actually changed by reinterpretations of them. The actress won me over but I was pretty annoyed by the idea at first. Wells is not a partially-documented, shadowy figure like Shakespeare. There is actually no way that he was a…
But the Chronicles are clearly sequels after the first and RAH wrote sequels that incorporated characters from previous works quite a lot at the end.
Presumable out-of-frame there is a cigarette in one hand and a bottle in the other.
Does a tight series of short stories collected into a single work count? I believe that the idea here is to point out that the trend towards making every dang book part of series wasn't always the way.
They should do focus groups on shows and movies that they want to reboot. If the stars are the best things about the show, don't reboot them.
I gave up on the books. Less isn't always more, but so much more is bound to be less.
A male gets the same kind of criticism for wearing a hairpiece or getting plugs. It is almost exactly the same in the sense that we lambaste people we don't like for it and overlook it in people we do like.
On FOX the comparison would still be Hitler.
