It was entertaining, but yes, it was sort of tacky. During that segment, I kept thinking about how Bobby Flay and Anne Burrell use those situations to actually show the contestants how they can improve their skills. Had I been in the kitchen, I would have so mesmerized trying to watch him do what he does, probably to

I want to be fair to Jordan and say that I don't believe he is the only person in the competition that would have selected themselves to be safe had they had the chance. However, he took over the "smarmy" reins from Howard tonight in a way that I found really abrupt. It makes me wonder if each week, we're going to get

Absolutely! I cannot watch anything with Gordon Ramsey live without tearing my hair out. Hell's Kitchen without a DVR would be torture, and even then I have to keep track of when the end of the episode is coming so I am prepared to be annoyed for a week.

I don't know anything about langoustine, but Gordon Ramsey really did make it seem like seafood and grits (even cheese grits *gasp*) was completely unheard of, which was ridiculous. If it wasn't good, that's fine. But Sasha's was definitely more substantial than Howard's.

He could be adopted. Or mixed-race.

Ah, okay! She is the same one then. I was wondering. I had thought it was someone wearing pink for some reason.

Is Natasha the same one who talked about how hot she was and how she was going to surprise the chefs with her skills in the auditions? Or was that someone else? Gabriela maybe?

Thanks for the suggestion @avclub-3db41011acc2d229176bf6a92202728d:disqus. This is my first season watching MasterChef, so I wasn't aware there were other versions. Sounds like I might enjoy your suggestion more.

He would be more of a bastard in my eyes if I felt like anything he did wasn't Gordon Ramsey-lite.

I would appreciate this show so much more if there wasn't the need to highlight conflict from the beginning between contestants. It's got to be hard enough to handle the challenges and be away from loved ones without the need to cast one person as the perpetual bitch and another person as the perpetual underdog.

The J. Mascis as Cecil from Gas Food Lodging One-Man Show?

I was a big fan of Big Love, and I agree with you that he was great. I didn't mention that role because it had already been mentioned so many times, and because I suppose I just was not as enamoured with him opposite Chloe Sevigny and Harry Dean Stanton as others. But I do think he did a great job there.

I'm DVR'ing it because I welcome any chance to see Matt Ross even if I have to fast forward past a lot of Jewel to do it.

He. Was. Spectacular. Just spectacular last night.

That is a fantastic catch! Kudos!

Agreed. What I like most about Bates Motel is that even though it is based on an established story, the writers have given the characters enough substance and heart that we can hope for a better an outcome for them when we know in the back of our minds that things cannot possibly turn out well. The most significant

Did anyone slow down their DVRs to catch the questions on the trivial pursuit cards? The first one that Scott Foley picks up actually says "Where is the Goodwin family treasure hidden?" and when he flips it over, it says "Look in the attic". That was the first question on the card (which is general knowledge, I

If they hadn't shown the lawyer videotaping him at the beginning, I would have expected he was faking his death to bring his family together. I sort of expected him to pop up at some point.

That's who he reminded me of. Thank you!

May I take this opportunity to formally suggest that the entire next Oscars telecast be an extended Nathan For You episode? He did get a C+ in accounting, after all.
