Good point about going "off-script". I assume the long arm of the law swooping down on them will make them a little more nutso than they are. I would just assume that they would be afraid to kill Joe's "protagonist" given that the story barely seems written.

I'm not a Poe scholar but the line she recited about the "ebony clock" dying with the rest of the "revelers" doesn't bode well for her, to my mind. I think this show would be likely to take a very literal reading of Poe's works,
